what to do with a lagging body part?

If a muscle group is lagging in development or just doesnt have the genetics that we would like to see, how should it be addresse? Is training it more frequently and reducing the training for the rest of the body the answer? I understand that there is no cure all for this but would imagine that there is some good insight amongst this board.

Thanks

mine is my pecs but I wanted to broaden the discussion so that other with lagging parts could also recieve advice. I would love some advice on pec too if isnt lots of flys, try incline more, or just dumbells. I have already tried these and there combinations. Im sure there is still much to learn though.

thanks again

how many difrant exersizsi you doing for youre chest for every work out.what youre consitansy with youre chest work out to.do you stick with the same one for at least a month or more or do you swich it up alote.

I switch it up a lot. Heavy dumbell incline press is most often my base excercise. DO FOUR HEAVEY SETS. Then flys of all kinds and some flat bench work.

I will do lots of one arm flys and cross chest excercises. Then lots of overhead chest/ribcage excersizes

u most likely have a genetical chest which will never be large?

scott steiner was a big dude but never had a big chest...just genetics nothing u can do about it...

a guy i know has huge arms and no chest.... i asked him how to build big arms and he asked me how to build a big chest...

7 months later and ive got arms bigger then he does and his chest , while improved, is still smaller then mine and it will stay that way

hit it twice a week you'll see the results

I would agree with gunz on this one. Just listen to your body. You might be rolling the dice on this one. i wouldn't lift heavy both workouts however. Go to bodybuilding.com, they have a grip of chest exercises to choose from. I go there to keep lifting interesting. I get bored easily.

If you're an AS user, it's hard to overtrain. For lagging bodyparts, I combine HIT training with high-rep failure training. train 2x/wk, 1) HIT 2) HR failure

Article in a bbing mag last month cant remember which one, saying lagging bodyparts can used bought up by using the 100 rep method, pick a weight that you can only get to 70 reps with, then lighten it 10%, one plate on a machine or whatever, to finish the last 30 reps without resting. This has bought my traps up nicely. It should only be used sparingly.
