What to do... (advice needed)

shibs

Stay frosty
So, i've got my boxing match in 3 more weeks. I've been training hard, and unfortunately find it really hard to get into the weightroom after training as training takes a lot out of me. I was going to stop lifting for about 3 weeks (til after the fight). And then jump back in head first. What negative effects will the break have? I'm not worried about putting on BF because i'm still being VERY active with my training. Is my muscle tone going to diminish in those few weeks? Should I find a way to get in a couple times a week just to try and keep everything maintained? I still want my all my muscle mass because you've gotta look good ;) but like I said its really hard to find time to get into the weight room, being i'm a full time student and work 3 times a week.

So mainly...

Is 3 weeks break going to make me weaker, and diminish my muscle tone?

Well I don't know about 3 weeks, but i took a week off and before I was squatting 300x2 which was really hard, when I got back I got 300x5 and it was pretty easy lol!!!!

haha nice nice
yeah i think i'm a bit over trained right now and a 2 week break would do me some good..

So i think the plan right now is to lift about twice a week just to maintain, and then take a break for about a week and a half to two weeks, right up to my fight

that sounds good ^^ you might want to replace the lifting with some stuff that caters more to boxing. Having said that, lifting lighter than usual might help in the long run if you want to make lifting a goal of yours

yeah i know this boxing match is the only time after that its just lifting all the way :)

so do you think within those 2 weeks of rest leading up to my match that my muscles will get "soft" or whatever?

doubtful, but you never know. I think if your diet is good that you should be fine. Just be receptive to your body when you come back. Since this is the only time you'll be boxing, just do whatever you can to prepare for the fight and kick some fucking ass :evil::evil::evil::evil:
