what the hell does "bump" mean?

These threads quickly fall to the bottom of the page when a new one is posted, so if someone wants it "bumped" back up to the top of the page, they just say bump, cause you have to write something in the message field to post.
 
Hey I was on this board for two months before I knew what the heck bump meant,

A bump is a rounded protrusion. For instance, when one has "goose bumps" the said individual will exhibit characteristic tiny "hills" or lumps on their skin (this condition is quite common and is nothing to concern oneself over).
