What supplemments you HAVE TO take while on AAS.

What about milk thistle and cranberry extract?

Personally, I see these two substance as kind of a old wives tale in the world of AAS.

Don't waste your time and/or money IMO.

I dunno if you care or not but between reading this Thread, and Scotties Thread last night, I've decided to go out & buy some r-ala. I have been using gear for years now, and never had any protection. Time to get with the game. Do they sell it at GNC, or local Health Food Stores, or is it best to order online? Thanks.

You might have saved a soul with this post.:p :p

Seriously though, good post.

AAS do cause small amounts of short-term damage to cells due to their interactions with their respective mechanisms.

Now, there are 3 main organs:

1. Heart
2. Liver
3 .Kidneys

(This is for AS users anyways. I will not include the Pancreas because there is very little you can do there.(Yes Macro I know.
But Insulin use by BB'ers is a very small minority)

1. Heart:

r-ala: 600mgs/day or ALA 1200mgs/day Take your pic.
Magnesium: 12000mg/day
Co-Q10: 100-200mg/day(Expensive BUT WORTH EVERY PENNY)

r-ala and Co-Q10 both increase oxygen transport to the heart which AAS decrease.

2. Liver:

600mg r-ala pretty much about covers it. If you run high 17-aa cycles, just add Tylers to the mix with sylimarin and selenium.
You can use racemic ALA too at 1200mgs/day
N-Acetyl-Cysteine(NAC): 4000mgs/day
Some oral/inj. steroids reduce cellular glutathione levels dramatically leading to heaptoxicity. r-ala raises intracellular glutathione levels by 50-70%. By adding C0-Q10 even more.

3. Kidneys:

600mg r-ala and 1200mg racemic have some effect. But for the kidneys the only thing you can do is drink PLENTY, and I do mean PLENTY of water. 2 Gallons/day or more. Thats 4.0L or more for you europeans(myself included)

IF YOU DO NOT FOLLOW THIS REGIMEN YOU WILL EVENTUALLY DEVELOP PROBLEMS if you're unlucky.

Remember that your health is PARAMOUNT.

This is what we call a safety net.

You mentioned taking r-ala for 3 organs at 600mgs. So is that 1800mgs a day? or would 600 cover for all 3 organs? Also is it 12,000mgs of magnesium or 1200mgs.? Thanks

12 grams of the wrong magnsesium will cause serious intestinal problems. You'll be shitting water which is definitely not good for your electrolyte balance. Magnesium Glycinate is a good one for large doses, just FYI.

It's a good idea to take vitamin E with CoQ10 as they work very synergistically. A full spectrum E, with both tocopherols and tocotrienols, is best.

Same with Acetyl L-Carnitine and r-ALA, together they are much more potent than either alone.

This a potent combination of anti-oxidents that would go a long way in protecting one from many diseases.

Good info, bro.

Fonz I'd like to hear more about your thoughts on pancreatic damage.... I assume you are not claiming that a shot of exo insulin can possibly shutdown your pancreas as Nelson was saying....
