What supplements do you guys use while juicing?

I know there's a lot of controversy over supplements and which ones are bogus and which ones are a good choice to take while on gear. What kind of supplements do you guys take while juicing? I'm hoping to get enough responses to be able to make an informed decision on what to take with my upcoming test/EQ cycle.

I use the following products on/off a cycle:

Optimum Pro-Complex protein w/glutime peptides
Twin Lab-Super Twin Multi-Vitamin

On cycle:

Milk Thistle
Cranberry Extract
Saw Palmetto/Pygeum Extract

Creatine post cycle
 
The short list:
Multi
2-3g Vit C
2g Green Tea
50 mg Zinc
1-2g calcium
Ginger
Dandelion(to help keep off water)
 
I've used a lot of things but only 2 supps i've used in ALL my cycles:

protein powders
flax seed oil
multivitamin
 
No bab, ala in fat oils or caps is alpha linoleic acid. Also, I guess I don't really consider Protein powder a supp, cuz I didn't think to list it, but,of course, I use that, too.
 
this is great info guys, thanks. let's bump this and see if we can't get some more bros to respond with what supplements they take on cycle.

oh and I guess I should have specified an inectible cycle as I understand if you are on 17aa orals, you'll be taking stuff to protect/clense your liver.
 
Flax oil has been linked to prostate cancer.

Saw Palmetto lowers DHT which increases the chance of getting gyno.

Glutamine can not be absorbed orally. (For the millionth time already).

Pretty much an supp that's good when you're off is good when you're on. Avena is a must to make the most of your cycle.
 
I don't take anything different if I'm on a cycle than opposed to not.

Supps I take:

multivitamin (when I remember hehe)
protein supp
udos choice oil
fat burner (only before workout)
gonna start to take zma stack before bed.

What! Are you kidding me? Jesus, another thing that I have to watch out for, this is in my family. Nelson do you have a study on this? Not doubting you just curious to read it. I take flax and a shooter of x-virgin olive oil every day. My doctor told me that if all lived to be old enough we would all EVENTUALLY get prostate cancer.

Anyways, back to the post. There are only a few things that are consistent for me always. Post cycle, and liver protectant supps vary depending what I am taking or finishing.

Regulars:
A quality whey protien isolate
Muti Vitamins
Vitamin C
B complex vitamins (100 mgs)
EFAs - flax and olive oil (maybe not flax anymore).

The rest comes from lots food and drink my friend.

I know what you mean Mavy "another thing to watch out for..."
Fuck I'm afraid to drink water now!!! remember when they freaked out about flouride being in the water? Well, now you can buy water with flouride added.

So from what I can gather, these are the following supplements that seem to be commonly used (based only on this short thread) and ones I'm likely to use on/off cycle.

- multi vitamin (on/off)

- flax seed (on/off) (I need more proof of Nelson's claims before I would discount it all together)

- creatine (on/off)

- Avena (on cycle) where's a good place to get some?

- protein powder (on/off)

did I leave anything out?

Peptides can Nelson.

Normal free form UN-CHAINED L-glutamine cannot be absorbed well at all.

A Peptide is a molecule with 2 consituents Glutamine and glutamine bonded together.
Think about this Nelson...I'll make it simpler for you...... :)

Say Glutamine(an atom) = O(Oxygen)
Glutamine Peptides(a molecule) = 0(2)(Oxygen molecule)

You need more energy to break apart the O2 Molecule than you do the simple O atom.

Thats why more peptides survive the GI tract intact than does the free-form L-Glutamine AA.

You science is lagging behind the times nelson.

I don't understand why people say that glutamine it not absorbed orally. Its in amino acid pills, protein powders, and meat, etc. I don't inject these, so Glutamine is the only amino acid that is this way? Why?
So how does everyone get their allowance of glutamine if not by ingesting it, are you hiking steaks up your ass?

Yes he is.

Glutamine peptides are going to be just one of those things where bam

a couple of years from now everyone will take :)

why? cus they actually work

not just for our purposes (training, recovery, and nitrogen retention)

but also for a slew of other health benifits.

think about it, glutamine............

its involved in so many reactions within the body.

cool, I'm sold on the glutamine peptides. I'll give it a try, why not, I'm going to stick myself every 4 days with juice.
 
awsome please share some update info with us.

couple of steps if you don't mind taking some of my opinion:)

take 2-3 table huge table spoons a day

mix the Gplenish with a flavored protein powder, or something to offset it natural earthy flavor.

for me this means 2-3 scoops of chocolate Whey to every 1 scoop of Gplenish, and half a banana


also it needs to be blended or if your on the go, put it in a shaker and shake it dry with your protein powder so the contents merge, then add your chosen liquid.


your gonna love it:)

take it for about a week or two then share your results

take care and have a great cycle :angel:

1 - Flax oil has been linked to prostate cancer.

This is probably speculative.

Rancid Omega 3's are carcinogenic. If you grind up flax, the heat generated by grinding may break down the omega 3's. This can cause the omega 3's to degrade and become rancid.

you can either buy flax oil, or do what I do: put whole flax in your food and chew. (Don't forget to floss!)

This is true. However, saw palmetto extract has been proven to be an effective treatment for DHT-induced problems (such as MPB).

It makes sense that if you want to take higher levels of test than your body produces (such as 300mg +/week), it might well do some good to throw in a 5-ar inhibitor, such as saw palmetto. It also may be a good idea to throw in an aromatase blocker, such as letro or 6-oxo, or a milder anti-e like Calcium D Glucarate (also found in LifeExtension formula).



Avena sativa - great stuff.
