What supplements are a must?

Starting bac tomorrow and am anxious to do everything I can for success - but willing to wait for results. I gave up caffeine, alcohol, and now the sugars and white flours - as I am a MAOR carb lover and one bite sets me off on the binge cycle. So - what supplements - do you all feel are most important - Should I stay away from fat burners because of the caffeine? I am trying to avoid the low blood sugar at all costs.
Thans!!

Bunny - you are so nice! Progress? - No I am a fat old lady!!! - Well, by our standards!! I went on the "raw diet" because - hell - I don't know why!! - It was really fun - all of the fruit you could possibly eat followed by vegetables and many trips to the ladies room! I definatley saw results - mostly in my skin tone and color and I did lose some weight at first but then proceeded to slowly put it on because of all the sugar in the fruit - I definatley started binge eating and went on some rollercoaster ride trying to get things figured out! Now I am doing the exact opposite at the request of my doctor - I was having major sugar imbalances and stomach problems. The keto type plan works well for me - anyone want a $400.00 juicer!!! - Brand new!

I personally think a Multivitamin & Glucosamine/Chondroiten/MSM is a must.....

I can throw the supp BOOK at you, lol, but I think you should take your diet & training a little further before throwing supps in the mix. I would recommend a good multi, are you getting enough calcium?

Glucorell (carb utilization) & Sesapure (caloric excess) are pretty good to have on hand from the AF store. They are not stims so if you want something to start with, I would start there.

Here is more info about the combo... https://www.anabolicfitness.net/shop/product_info.php?id=149

I personally think the no carb or very low carb diet is setting a woman up for failure (with fat loss as a goal) ... carbs are not necessarily the enemy, it's the TYPE of carbs you eat that can be damaging. Sure the inital losses for the average women running low/no carb appear to work as you drop a bunch of water, maybe some fat, but when you come off, you put it all back on & more. (just going off 90% of the women I've seen do this & fail, I am sure there are some this HAS worked for.)

A few days low to moderate carb is fine with a carb up once or twice a week is better IMO. I prefer to use the 40P/30C/30F as a base and adjust from there.

:)

Sorry this thread was about supps .. guess I want you start with diet eh? lol :D

I've never really looked into the "raw" diet, however lots of fruits & veggies is basically a great short term detox diet. Its not a balanced diet though. So for short term clean out, as you noted, its great to reset yourself to go into a tight diet. Keto diet I personally think is a bit extreme if you are doing one refeed / week -- keto will make you drop fat for a while, but you can't build muscle on it or generally have an energetic lifestyle. If you like the keto approach I'd ask how often do you do a refeed. If you up it to 2x/week it becomes more like a 3 day carb cycle diet so you don't actually go deep into ketosis and then bog down - instead you recarb just before your metabolism decides to slow down in response to the lack of energy food.

If it does anything for you, I do a juicing / detox diet 1-2 x/year just to clean things out as I tend to run a fairly high protein diet w/ limited variety, so you don't have to feel like you just toss the $400 juicer. (I paid about $35 for mine... )

Supps-wise - I agree w/ Bunns - start w/ just getting your diet & training established. and dont' worry about the supps. YOu don't need to drop cashola on supps to get "fit". A good multi is great, glucorell - hey, its nice :) MSM -- great if you tend to have joint or tendonitis issue. Its somethign that you don't just take one day and feel fantastic - its sort of a long-term supp but its great support in general. If you are pursuing a more restricted diet (i.e. limited variety, fewer fruits / veggies) then you can consider more anti-oxs and stuff to help keep the stuff moving thru.

I think fat burners are great! They gave me energy when low-carbing to make it through a hard workout. I like LB-X by Flexstar.

just to add- a couple supps that are worthless- BCAAs & Glutamine.

glutamine worthless?

Maybe it depends on the person, but I've found it very helpful to me......don't feel as "worn out" when I take it.....

Now, creatine is one thing that didn'tdo anything for me.....

I only took BCAAs during my contest prep.....
