It will almost certainly be the Dark Phoenix story. I'd like to see the Brood storyline. Since the Brood were an obvious Alien rip off, I think an Aliens/X-men story could really work--that would get the horror/super hero geek butts into the theatre seats.

1.) It HAS to include Phoenix, since they alluded to it at the end of 2.

2.) It won't go into anything X-Men geeks love, mostly because all that Dark Phoenix shit requires build-up.

3.) It'll mostly just finish up the loose ends from 2 and maybe leave the door open for a 4th.

I think the Spiderman series is basically just going to be a new villain each installment. Not a true continuation of story-lines, save for personal character development and growth.

Dark Phoenix is a given since that's how they ended X-men 2. I'm not sure they'd go the Sentinels route since it seemed they kinda had an agreement with the president but who know. I would like to see Apocolypse somewhere as well.
