hey fellas, well the time has come for me to get a squat suit since I will be attending my first full power meet in Georgia at the Sept 6 APF. Right now, I have been using my Frantz briefs and I really like them. I mainly only lift at outlaw meets and this will be my first fed sanctioned meet. Any types of briefs/suit combinations you guys recommend? Thanks guys, I need to order it soon.

i wear frantz's polyester suit. i think the material is pretty good and it performs good too. they also usually get my orders to me relatively quickly compared to other companies.

ginny phillips canvas is great , but it takes some getting used to , try an inzer hardcore w/your frantz briefs

would it be possible to learn a canvas quickly if i ordered one? i hear inzer is making some sort of hybrid canvas suit but i can't find any info on it. any more opinions please?

also, how does the Ginny Phillips canvas relate to Frantz and how can i contact her if need be? what measurements does she need and what are her prices?

i think ginny has about about a 6 week wait for one of her suits , the frantz breifs would be fine under her suit. Call dave tate @ EFS for her # ( i have long since lost her # ). if i can fid her # ill post it.

hmm what are your thoughts about Frantz canvas suits? i am debiating on getting one of those or a Frantz dbl poly. what are everyone's thoughts on the hardcore? i was thinking about picking up a pair of Metal briefs but those things are like 160 bucks before shipping. someone is greedy.

cool man, i was thinking of the Frantz poly myself. can you recommend any other briefs besides the Metals or should i just stick to my Frantz ones? does anyone have any opinions on the Dbl Hardcore?

well you already have a good pair of breifs, so unless you have the money to spend on the metal briefs id stick with what ya got. i do think the metal breifs would be worth it though, although they may be hard to get a good fit the first time.

I have an Inzer double denim and a Franz single poly. both are loose...but fun to play with.

i am pretty much debating between a Frantz canvas or dbl poly. i wish Metal briefs weren't soooooooo expensive. makes me mad. grrrrr

What about the Titan Boss or Frantz Canvas. I think if you

train in one for 1-2 months you should get a feel and be ready to rock and roll come Sep.

Well I have both the double poly and the canvas...and if you can get canvas to work for you there really is no contest.

Tried mine out today for the first time in awhile. Wanted to see what it took to get down in it. Proceeded to squat 625 (after doing all my speed work) and the weight FLEW UP. I had 700 in me, and considering I only got 575 at my last meet 6 weeks ago I will have to say that canvas is better...I know I am stronger...but the suit did help.

alright, i have one major question then cause i am gonna order today. my weight fluctuates around 10pds on average, between 155-165. what weight should i order my canvas in since they don't really allow room for error. also, how many training sessions did it take you to get the hang of canvas?

Order whatever weight you plan to compete at....

As far as how many training sessions to get the hang of canvas...I wouldn't say I am there yet. So more than one is the only answer I can give you.

alright, chances are i will be competing around 160 or so. you believe there is no competition between poly and canvas?

For me yes...however some people find they don't like canvas as well as poly. It is a completely different animal. Truth be told...until I take mine into battle I cannot be sure what I think of it either. It's just one of those things that you have to determine if it works for you. The difference between the two is alot like the difference between a poly and a denim bench shirt. They both require different strength and have different grooves. You just have to try it and see....which with the price tag on a canvas suit...it makes for an expensive trail and error session.

Such is the nature of the game. Sorry I couldn't give you a more definitive answer.

no problem man, you told me what i wanted to know. i think i will get a canvas. just have to get the measurements right.

Here is Ginny's email..

Double canvas suit is $230. shipping is sually $12 -
$14. so total max..$245.00.

I take personal checks or money orders and ship priority mail COD. (haven't had any trouble with checks so far)

Measurments: chest at sternum / waist / hip at widest part of butt muscles / upper thigh where you bend during squat / length of leg you want / circumference of thigh where leg will stop (hem) also want your weight and height.

Excuse me as I take advantage of this thread space and post a question:

For a first-timer....er rather "beginner" power lifter, what suit do you folks recommend? Another thing is I don't plan on competing very much as a power lifter, since strongman is my primary focus. Maybe two or three meets in the coming year.

Anywhoos, my first meet is WABDL sanctioned bench/dead. Thinkin' of getting a bench shirt and a dead suit. Looked at Karin's site, and I thought I should get some advice before making some major purchases.

Thanks in advance.
