does the free one let you edit? i thought you had to buy the full version to edit.

No the free version will not let you edit. You will need Adobe Acrobat 6.0
which allows you to create and modify pdf files.

anyone have a copy?

I know in the past you could install the full version for a free 30 day
trail period. I am not sure if that is still going on or not?

PDF files are created and can be modified with ADOBE ACROBAT.

not exactly true. PDF files can be image-based or text-based. If it's image-based you'll need Acrobat, Illustrator or Photoshop. If it's text based (I save my resume as PDF text) you can edit it with OpenOffice.
