What Remakes Are Better than the Originals?

I think one of the few better remakes was Billy Idol's "Mony Mony". "Pretty Woman" actually since I heard it first by Roy Orbison(my dad use to play it all the when I was kid when we were on long road trips) I think is still better than Van Halen versian. I do think Van Halen "Really Got Me Going" is better than the Kinks.

Hair of the Dog and Live and Let Die are both better by the the Nazareth and Paul McCartney than G&R's remakes. But I still enjoy both versians. Brownsville Station's "Smoking in the Boys Room" is definetely better than Motley Crues but again I heard Brownville Station singing it live on the Midnight Special music show(man, I just dated my self on that comment).

So what about ya'll concur or no?

Van Halen - You Really Got Me
Hendrix - All Along the Watchtower

Two of the greatest covers of all time, the latter of which is the greatest of all time, IMO.

"Faith" - Limp Bizkit is better than George Michaels version

"Sucka MCs" - Wu-Tang Clan isnt necessarily better than Run-DMC's version, but its different and pretty solid

Sometimes remixes by the same artists are even better than the original song

No fuckin' way. Although I am a fan of LB, I am also a fan of George Michael's music (both with Wham and his solo career). I don't give a fuck if he's gay, I'm listening to his music, not shit about his gay lifestyle and beliefs. LB's Fred Durst doesn't have nearly as good a voice as George Michael's, and the beginning of the LB's remake of the song has Fred Durst screaming at the top of his lungs to the point where I have to ask myself, "Who shot the dog?"

'March of the SOD/Sgt D' - original by SOD, cover by Entombed.
