I like the kind of lyrics that one finds in RUSH music. Thinking man's lyrics.

Rush IS good...I also love Patti Griffith, and Sting. Pretty much anything that can stand well as a poem on paper, whatever the content. There's nothing wrong with a good love song, but it's got to be GOOD, not trite, and can't use the word "baby." Bob Marley's "Redemption Song" is lovely (as is "Three Little Birds"). I like things to be uplifting, but a tear-jerker is welcome, as long as it's not maudlin.

Lyrics of a song never really matter to me. It's the music and the way the Frontman sings that makes or breaks the song. Prison Sex, by Tool, has lyrics that are disturbing but the song is one of the best. Danzig's views in his music are the total opposite of mine, but damn, Danzig rocks. So, I don't understand the big deal about the lyrics. We all live in a Yellow Submarine...................who cares.
