On this statement, writeen by Chris Aceto........This is my nightly ritual and my fat % is still pretty damn low.........
.[ 1. ] Eating then sleeping will make you gain fat.

Did you know that sumo wrestlers eat then sleep on purpose to gain fat as quickly as possible? Your body doesn't require as many calories during sleep and calories that are eaten right before sleep have a far greater chance of being stored as fat. In fact, it's almost a certainty.
This goes for afternoon naps and also applies to late-night eating. If you eat and then immediately sleep on a regular basis, you will gain

That true, Kurz1....

Assuming your body is not in a catabolic state, it will store most of that as fat.....remember your body is a survival mechanism.....it does what it does to survive, not to keep you with single digit BF%.

Ideally during a dieting phase you'd eat your heavy meal earlier in the day at lunch and cut off all carbs past 2pm. All other times it's really not a big deal to eat before going to bed because your body would be in such a state of rebuild and repair that it's a wash between what is stored as fat and what is used for rebuilding during sleep.

So for me, 4-5 handfulls of peanuts, 250g of dry curd cottage cheese, and a pretty large casein shake is used or stored?

Actually what you are doing is no problem at all. The fella you we're referring to in your original post is guilty of over simplifying the issue. Using the Suma Wrestlers as an example is a straw man argument at best. Those fat asses tend to eat one meal a day later in the evening, whch of course slows down the metabolism. The meal is usually big and filled with all the wrong stuff.

Conversely, what you are doing doesn't have the same effect at all. Like comparing apples and oranges !! If it works, do it !

change the 2pm till post workout and I agree

As stated above this all depends on several factors. If one is dieting eating larger meal before going to sleep will not hinder fat loss. If one trains in the evening and then goes to sleep you don't have to worry about calories and carbs, you need them. I always eliminate my carbs in my last meal, since I train in the evening. I also use casein, steak, and natural peanut butter as my last meal. Provides a slow steady release of aminos for several hours.

ASSUMING you meant "bulking" instead of dieting..........I've stay at a pretty low bf% even with incorporating my late night feast right before bed.........guess it would be smart to knock it off when I cut again......however, my brother used to wake up at midnight and eat a eas low carb bar and/or a chx breast all the way up to 3 weeks before his last show..........placed 2nd with a very impressive canton, ohio showing.......maybe he woulda won it had he refrained....lol...doubt it.......would it matter if you are on gear or not?
