Why do we spend a good chunk of our free time on a chat board with people whom we will most likely never meet? What is the allure?

Very good. Sometimes it actually does affect my life. I think about things I said and sometimes I regret it. I get in those moods where I just blurt shit out because I need a release.

its fun
I learn things.. everything from current events, to new jokes, to training tips, diet tips
its a place to vent
i can practice typing
there are lots of good bros here!

Good points. A lot of people would think this is a waste of time, but I don't feel that way. It does help me to avoid having to focus on real life relationships, which I'm not very good at. THis is far more entertaining and you can talk to a whole lot more people.

My english and typing skills have actually improved quite a bit as a result of spending a lot of time on this board...atleast, for someone who comes from parents with a poor english.

I spend a lot more time on here than people probably realize or care, I just dont post all that much in comparison to other memebers *cough*lestat*cough*

I'm to the point where there isn't life outside EF. When people talk about the real world I think EF, everything else is just made up. I wouldn't worry about how much time you spend here until this happens to you. EF can't afford to lose ladies!

Sfmonster, this board is part of my real life. There are a few people on here that are a part of my real life (and I care for them dearly).

I'd just made the name up to register for some trial software so I already had the hotmail account set up when I browsed onto Elite. Little did I know that I'd get stuck with it for months on end, maybe years. Who knows what delinquencies had ravaged my mind to cause it to dredge up such a manly name?

The alternative was Normal Hawaiian which I'd also just set up.
