What is the name of this exercise when you get on your knees or into a full squat, and press either dumbells or a barbell overhead?

You guys kill me with all these crazy variations. Are you THAT sick of training with standard form exercises, that you have to do these??

i dunno but it sounds like those would be great change for shoulders. i might try those out.

It would do absolutely nothing different to your shoulders compared to overheard press but it'd rape your core.

I am simply asking for the name of it. Why do you have to criticize my exercise selection.. try it before you do it and you will see how different it is

Not everybody here is bodybuilding.

Its an exercise for your core stability/strength, not for your shoulders or legs. Given the fact the weights you use are so small, your shoulders aren't doing all that much work.

Cool. Gotcha bro.

Sounds like along the lines of doing squats while holding a barbell overhead in the lockout postion. Can`t use much weight but it sure as hell must be brutal and must work the heck out of all the stablizer/balance/core muscles........

No its not overhead squat and not behind the neck press. Tomorrow I want to do

Military PResses, Floor Press, and maybe 2 sets of 15 of Zott presses while on my knees - it really makes your shoulders work hard for stabilization and 20 lb dumbells feel like 80's

No bro.... I mean doing a miltary press and while holding the bar in the overhead lockout postion and keeping it up there you start doing your squats......the bar stays overhead for the whole set......

Bro thats an overhead squat

It's a oly type exercise - I do these in my warmup :)

I know Rev and I didn`t intend to say these (overhead squat) was what you were talking about. Rather that the exercise you mention was something "like" or along the lines aka in the same class as the movement you are describing. Let us know how it went :)

OK I call it a Zott Press and it is basically this: You Take two kettlebells (substitute db's if you have to), 1 in each hand. You start with the weight held at the shoulders and you squat down into a full squat. From that position you press the weights overhead and then complete the squat with the weights locked out overhead. So it really works the hell out of the core as well as the stabilizers in the shoulder. It is also great for balance development.

Atomic you are the most negative person ever....relax

In a wsb split (that is what you are on right?) I would put them as an accesory lift on de lower days, do them toward the end of the workout and use high reps to begin with.....start with 3 sets of 12-15....they will kick your ass so start light.

Huh. I never knew about that, but I like to do OHPs in horse stance. It's hard to balance and mentally challenging.
