what is the key to big traps?

I'm need to know, because that is what i want to build most right now, for now i do shoulder shrugs and hang cleans. I don't know any other exercises for them. please share some with me as well as some techniques. Should i follow the same concept of low reps for muscular size?

You can try hang high pulls instead. Basically, start in a hang clean position, then explode with your legs and traps, but do not rack the weight. Just pull it as high as you can.
 
next time i do shoulders ill increase my dumbell shrugs to 100 pounds. ill try to do some hanging cleans too. i think i know what yer talkin about.
 
Deadlifts forsure, if you're doing BB shrugs try it with the bar behind you it takes a bit to get use to, you might have to go lighter.
 
just make sure youre not going too heavy. i see a lot of clowns trying to shrug rediculous weights, with barely any rom. you dont want to injure your traps...they're too close to a lot of important stuff.....

what about shrugs with the hex bar?

(the alternative bar used for DL's, it looks like a diamond that you step into the middle of and then DL)
