I am so friggen pissed. I always used to snack on or add Fiber One cereal to my meals to lower the GI or slow digestion, but they snuck maltodextrin in it (never recalled seeing that before). I thought the only sweetener they used in it was aspartame.

Ok so what is the deal really. I hear some people say maltodextrin is a complex carb? But people still use it to spike insulin?

This cereal has like 22 grams of carbs and 14 grams of fiber in a half cup. Maltodextrin is like the 5th or 6th ingredient. Do you think this cereal is above or below 50 on the gi scale?

Texture is a fine white powder possessing a bland taste and excellent dispersion in water or other beverages. Increases the mixability of protein powders when added to them.

foods can be COMPLEX, but not always low-gi

I think w/ 14g fiber, you shouldn't worry about the other content.
