What is the best whey protein Isolate

What is the best whey protein Isolate for gaining muscle? Once you get to an Isolate, is there really a big difference between brands or are they virtually all the same. I have read that Cross-FLow-Microfiltraion or Cold-filtraion is the best process because it leaves the most bioavaiable protein particles intact.

I use ON whey i know a few people on here do aswell. Contents are decent and the tropical punch tastes good to...

Protein Factory or other CrossFlo Whey tastes OK, is nearly pure protein(90%), but pricey.

ON Gold tastes the best IMO and is also an OK protein %, just not as pure in its
% (50%) -ON Rocky Road flavor -marshmallow flavor is super sweet if you like that.

Isopure and some of the other Isolate brands are better and moderatly priced and in the 80% protein area.

EAS or other major brands are OK if you are on a budget and they are often on sale.
I can find it on sale most places, even TARGET and they are OK with Whey Concentrate and Isolate blends in the 50% protein range

If you are using a ton of whey, you will go broke buying the high end stuff all the time unless you have a fat wallet. Just double up the serving size and figure in the fat/carbs into your diet..

Isolate should typically be around 94% protein if it is good quality. Concentrate is around 80%.
Cross flow microfiltered is a good option as it is undenatured and so still biologically active which means the peptides can increase igf-1 and reduce cortisol.
Ion exchange gives a greater % of protein (upto 98%) but denatures it so it is no longer biologically available.
There are some new proteins coming onto the market that are selective peptides which means that they are biologically active and have the right peptides for muscle growth - kind of like mothers milk.
The lesser quality proteins do not just contain fat and carbs unfortunately. Many of them are high in lactate, cholestorol and even ash!

Ion-exchanged WPI is denaturated and has lost a lot of beneficial properties

of the biologically active protein-fractions like immunglobulins, lactoferrin and

others. It's a "dead protein".

I would rather go with a solid WPC (if I am not cutting) or with ultrafiltered or

cross-flow-microfiltrated Whey. both are processed in a way that does not

destroy the active protein fractions.

Isolate is generally devoid of Lactose, Impurities, Hydrolized to a specification that is easier to digest ( daltons) etc.

i'm a repeat buyer of optimum nutrition, great taste that you could drink all day with milk or water, packed with glutamine and other aminos, works for me, it will for you too. Plenty of flavours, my choice!

All good answers. CF and Iso are typically "purer."

Hydrolyzed is the most instantly absorbale but tastes like ass.

Sprayed dried plasma protein is far superior and very expensive but it's protein subfractions which means you're assimilate much more of the nitrogen.

BIG BLAST contains whey isolate and plasma protein, plus creatine, NO2 and Omega 3's. $14.00 lb.
