It is sometimes injected into muscle to increase volume. It can cause major complications deep vein thrombosis, abcess, cardiac arrest- you name it.

Synthol is injected into or under a muscle to make it appear bigger, but the resulting swelling looks more like a cancerous tumor than a muscle. Oil doesn't flex and muscles do.
Synthol on a guy reminds me of a really bad boob job on a woman -- it looks terrible. Regrettably, some pros use it in a desperate attempt to outsize the competition.
But no one knows the long-term side effects yet. Myself, I think Synthol's an insult to the sport. Heavy drug use already leads a lot of people not to take bodybuilding seriously, but Synthol reduces the sport to a complete joke.
Joe Weider dreams of bbing becoming an Olympic sport ... yeah right! Not as long as winning is about how much toxic oil you can pump into your bodyparts, inflating yourself like the Michelin man.
