What is Karma??

I don't understand this whole Karma thing. I read through the whole FAQ for the board and there was no reference to it. What is the Karma for?

Karma in the religious and metaphysical sense - you can find it on the Internet.

Karma in the EF sense. That's where an intelligent, AAS-educated person posts a thoughtful post and receives nothing in return. It's where somebody can make 7,000 posts and have one Karma point.

It was an idea to stimulate higher-calibre posts by allowing others to give one another "Karma" for their goodness...but it flopped.
