What ingredients to look for in deodorant?

What ingredient(s) are the ones that work in a deodorant. I just want the basics, nothing fancy. I don't wanna spend any more money then I have to. Non of the expensive natural stuff please.

If you are looking at Anti-persperants, zirconium and
aluminium are what make them effective, however is there much speculation about the safety of these ingredients.

supposedly, aluminum is what makes people senile.....from deodorants, aluminum beverage cans, etc....at least according to my 11th grade chem teacher....

I'm gonna try to get some information from a few credible sites to do a little research on the safety of these chemicals. I don't think there would be much evidence against its safety or the government would advise substitutions.

Just because we have chiseled abs and stunning features, doesn't mean that we too can't not die in a freak gasoline fight accident.

shit are you serious?? for a while i thought my body was going nuts, i have these nasty-ass pit stains on my brand new workout shirts, never happened before but i guess it makes sense considering i switched to antiperspirant recently. time to switch back to the old stuff i guess

Yep. I've been using Old Spice High Endurance Deodorant (both Fresh and Pure Sport scented) for a while now, and all my undershirts are still as white in the pits as the rest of the shirt. I forget where I read about the aluminium causing that in some people, but I switched, and presto!

aluminum is the ingredient keeps you from smelling like shit. My parents were in italy recently and the airlines lost my fathers luggage which had both my parents deodorant in it. They had to buy an italian brand which has no aluminum. They said it makes you smell like meatballs. I would rather take a few years off my life then smell awful all the time. Maybe its just me.
