I was in the army, worked in the political arena here in California (nothing big obviously), and am now just getting started as a Financial Planner for the largest company of its kind here in the US (based of course on number of employees and total assets managed). Now 26, Im sure that this industry (or a variation thereof) is where I want to settle in for the duration.

I assume we have some real estate folks in here?

I work in the Office of the Chairman of several companies, including insurance, finance, legal, real estate and pharmaceutical marketing.

Sometimes I call it "Emperor in Training".

I'm Bugs Bunny and I play all positions where I can make money.

I introduce projects to wealthy investors for a fee. Stock, banking, real estate, Oil sales, etc.

Stocks are my specialty because of my access to the SEC. I especially like crushing penny stock fraud.

producer... (or one of the 1000 jobs within that name) lol.

Fire Sprinkler system layout...good field if you are technically inclined. Job security as there are not enough qualified people in the country to do all of the work.

What the hell! All of you business guru's on here.. One of you has to have some power here to get me an interview somewhere.. I feel like I went to school and picked up my International Business and Business majors, and learned 4 extra languages for nothing!

mortgage broker.......

starting my own debt consolidation business on the side.....to incorporate within some of my refinances. there's a killing to made :)

Air Force. I'm deploying for four months in a week and when I return I will have less than a year until I separate. Hopefully I can find a something I like that pays well until I finish my degree when I get out.

I'm a Community Advisor in the dorms on campus. I'm majoring in Marketing and hopefully I can sell life insurance...if my grades are good enough. :p

You a realtor? broker? Investor? Builder?

I own a lot of FL real estate and I'm just curious what else people are involved in. I bought a few condos and have a large construction project going on now. I might try to do one construction project a year on high end homes, we'll see.

WHat's your story?

Are you doing construction, too?

Just wondering.

Nope, but we are looking into land development.

Right now my construction projects are limited to purchasing things pre-construction...... ;)

How's the house coming along?? We'll be down the last week of this month, then I'll be back down at the end of October but towards or Orlando for Biketoberfest (which I know isn't your scene). If we don't hook up then, we should plan something for December, we'll be down the second week, through January 4th.

hey bro, you ever coming back down this way?

btw, what type of projects is your company involved in? Condo conversion? preconstruction?

Real Estate is where its at. Just like you Gettinripped, I was fortunate to get into the business just before the boom took place. I was selling homes when rates were like 4%, I couldn't write deals quick enough! I started to purchase investment properties which I hope I can make a full time business out of soon.

he has participated in the preconstruction flipping phenomenon, I don't think they do hands on development.

Been there done that. Got one internship and an extensive marketing project under my belt for a company. Granted, I still have a lot to learn but I am ahead of others in my position. Not to mention quite a bit of experience in the industry I am looking at getting into, at least comparable to others coming out of college

I need to update myself. I just got fired from my job so I'm going to head back to college and finish my accounting degree. Hey R33t, can a get some free legal advise?? :)

Just finished a BS in biology. Although unrelated to my education, I've been working in sleep medicine for 2.5 years. Where I am now, we just split from the corporation we used to be under. Took all the labs (except one, and we get that one in a month when the contract runs out), all the physicians, and just moved to different location in the same metros.

I'm going to invest back around 30% of what I made this year into equipment for another lab and I'm currently distancing myself (on paper) from the "owner'' of the company so I can start my own DME to supply CPAP machines and Oxygen to our patients.

Great responces everyone!

I think another great question would be : How exactly did you get into your current field?

Young students, such as myself, would greatly benefit from that type of information.

LOL,

bor, here is a tip. Most of the responses on this thread are like a guy saying:

"waste management engineer" when "janitor" would do.

Just a thought for you.

To respond to the post, I am a project manager for a major home builder in my state. I am 24 with a BS in adminstration, trying to fit in enough time to get my MBA. I make around 60K salary, but overall I average around 85 to 90K. Its a good job, but I still feel I am the rat race of working 50 to 60 hours a week. But I am doing to start a nest egg, and try to learn about investing above my 401K.

Director of Business Relations and marketing for a national mortgage company. Been in the business for 5 years. Started off as a loan officer and worked on my degree.

There has to be a way we can pool our resources to form a circle of help. Car parts, finance, R/E, and anything else the good bro's here have to offer. Moderators, if you like this idea, message me. I will take responsibility for forming this.

It has to be a separate website apart from this website. We don't want that information at all directly linked with this website.

There are some extremely ambitious and successful people here at EF.. I wish everyone would post up on this thread and share with us what they do...

I am building myself up to, in the next 2 years, have my own finacial services franchise.. We are the Starbucks and McDonald's of the financial industry. Our company's vision is to have 1 million franchises by the year 2010, the only question to me is how many do I want to own?? :)

I've handed over 2 death claims and I felt like superman both times because both families suggested that they didn't need Life Insurance. Without my 'sales ability' as you suggest, they would be living off of gov't assistance and they would have lost their homes.. Oh, did I mention that one of the widows was pregnant at the time of her husband's death? The greatest urge in human nature is the urge to feel important.. I do.. Do you? No, I'm not asking you what you do or how you do it.. I'm asking you this..... Do you believe in what you do? Do you have a vision in life??Do you know yourself? I feel a resentment, a bitterness..

Bottomline, I don't stop talking. The moment I do stop talking the less families I help. The thing is is that I was born with 2 ears and one mouth, so that I can listen twice as much as I talk. That is the rule that I live by.

I don't need to 'sell' you anything. What I do, there is a great need for. I will, however, offer you a free education about some simple financial concepts. That is, unfortunately, all I do have to offer.

You want a real statement. I"ll make a good 6 figure income this year and I'll pay less taxes than someone who makes 20k, and probably less taxes than you.. I'm cheating the system right? haha.. I can only hope that that isn't your answer..

Anyhow, thanks for your input, I am sorry you feel that way. Now if you could only share with us what you do and not flame, as, this thread would be a lot more of a pleasant atmosphere. Thank you for your consideration.

3 more years in the the Air Force here. Working on the last 2 years of my psychology degree but still no idea what I want to actually do. Would lov more than anything to own my own business someday.....maybe a chain of tanning salons or a car dealership, but I have a lot to learn.

Realtor in Grand Rapids MI. I also invest in Real Estate, flips, long term rentals, private investor deals etc.. I have only been doing this for 4 years and make 4Xs what I did in my best year prior to Real Estate, I wish I would have started much sooner! I'm currently 39 years old.
