What ever happend to good movies like THE ROCK, T2, PREDATOR, LETHAL WEAPON 1 2 3 4, DIE HARD 1 2 3, RUDY, MATRIX, BRAVEHEART...just to name a few.

The recent releases are terrible. Pearl Habor, MUMMY RETURNS, THE PATRIOT(was ok). Nothing has caught my attention like the movies listed above did when they first came out.

There are some decent movies. I'd recommend "Shrek" for anyone who hasnt seen it yet. Yeah yeah yeah, it's an 3D animated cartoon, but it's funny like hell.

Also check out "Memento", another excellent film.

I know what you mean. I thought Mummy Returns and Pearl Harbor were decent, not great, and what bums me out is I finally discovered downloading current movie online and there isn't really anything I want. I might give Fast and the Furious a shot.

I know what your saying bro. They are few and far between these days. Thats what the good ol' DvD players is for. I have all the good ones baby and my collection keeps growing!

I'm stocking up on the Classics now for DVD. No real Actors that give off the John Wayne appeal as far as superstar....Perhaps it's just the stories need to improve

There are some weak flicks out there I agree. Try watching them different. Be an active watcher ie; pay attention to lighting, editing, flow, content, charecter development. Sometimes when you look for these things instead of being a passive observer you will enjoy much more.

I think the filmakers are getting too carried away with trying to outdo each other with special effects and all that shit that making the movie actually good and enjoyable is taking a backseat. Plus people are more and more becoming "visual" orientated and expect to see all the special effects and don't really care as much about the campy old style of films before all the computer generated nonsense. I look forward less and less to going to the movies now, I mostly just look forward the the new comedies coming out, and shy away from the action movies and stick with the old ones like Rambo, Lethal Weapon, etc.

For me it's a good old Clint Eastwood spaghetti western that gets me going. I know, I know, the acting sucked but you just can't beat how "classic" they have become. As fore modern day movies-hell I might see 2 a year in the theatre and that's it. Most of this stuff now days (on tape or in the theatre) you would have to pay me to watch it.
