I have a simple yet acceptable question that ive kind of been wondering for a while. Right after i lift ,or finish my daily workout,
I always notice that i feel a little better and a little more upbeat. Well, what i was wondering is this:What happens too your hormone levels right after you lift weights???Do your testosterone levels go up??do they go down???If so foo how much???Also does your metabolism stay revved up right after you lift weights. Just a couple of things that i wanted to clear out.

I think test stays elevated for an hour or so. Could be the rush of endorphins you get from exercising that's causing your upbeatness (word?)

it is the release of endorphins(your body's natural pain killer).

DO THEY GO UP THOUGH...

BUT DO YOUR TEST LEVELS GO UP OR YOUR METABOLISM FOR THAT MATTER????....BECAUSE I REMEMBER THAT BEFORE I STARTED LIFTING I WOULD JUST DO ALOT OF CARDIO AND DIET AND I WOULD NEVER REALLY CUT UP.....BUT AS SOON AS I STARTED LIFTING...SHREDDING UP BECAME EASIER...EVEN THOUGH I CUT BACK ON THE CARDIO. WHAT GIVES???

PS-SORRY FOR THE CAPS...MY KEYBOARDS NOT WORKING WELL

Well,it's a bit more complex than just one hormone going up.

I think I read somewhere that it has been recently shown
that weightlifting reduces test a while after excercise contrary to what was previously thought.

you're somehow making me crave cheezies... and i haven't even been working out... excuse me while i go run across the way...

Sonnyb....

Since a workout really tears down muscle tissue, what your are feeling is the onslaught of the bodies repair cycle which will begin almost immeadiatly after you finish a workout. With this repair process comes a release of endorphines, the bodies natural pain medication to aid with the repair process, an increase in test levels which elevates all your basic metabolic functions. And an increase in your metabolic rate which responds to "cell damage" and kicks thing into overdrive to get you back to a "healed" state.

so, we wanna be hurting ourselves all the time and therefore be in the healing state most of the time and then we'll feel good...
