What effect does drugs have on workouts?

For example does blowing coke or smoking weed effect your muscle mass/strength? I know whe u sniff you tend not to be hungry therefore losing weight.. but say u do that while eating and working out hardcore.the negative side effects?

i like to take some ecstasy right before i lift and when the barbell collapses my chest cause i put 8x45lb plates on each side cause it felt soo good, i love it cause the barbell just feels soooo good on my chest and my cracked ribs rubbing up against my lungs feels sooooo good it makes me want to take a bath and lick my lips.

But seriously, I think drugs + lifting is always a bad idea.
However, theoretically stimulants like meth and coke should help you increase intensity
 
meth is taken pre workout, coke is for cutting, weed is for bulking, extacy is for 'drying out' that last few lbs of stubbon water.

you might think only someone who was borderline MMR would think that, but amazingly enough that's what some actual real kosher big bb'ers do.. blows my mind (no pun intended)
 
I dont think smokeing weed will hurt your lifts at all. Except make you to lazy to go to the gym. If you prioritize lifting and smoke latter you should be cool. I read a couple studys that say it may be a good tool for weight loss. The studys said that the average pot head weighs less than the averge none pot head. But they consume like 1000 more calories and work out far less. I dont smoke so dont lisen to me ahhahahahha.
 
I'm gonna have to call BS on the comment about potheads consuming 1000 more calories, working out far less and weighing less. But then, like you, I'm no expert.
 
Personally, I think they're TWO very separte lifestyle choices. I have friends that would rather stay up late and smoke ... on the other hand, I go to bed at a decent hour to recover from my workouts.

It's most likely guaranteed in the long run, someone that smokes versus someone that's dedicated to the BB lifestlye the one that doesn't smoke (anything, no drugs...) will be much more developed in every way.

It's a choice... you can combine the two, you just won't get to where you want to be in the fastest possible time span I'm sure.

smoking marijuana causes a pretty large drop in blood sugar thus creating the apetite swing. This is why doctors usually tell their diabetics to avoid it.

christ weed aint bad at all, though i only use it once in a while for fun, but i know guys that smoke everyday and have been for years and they all lift and are actually successful people. i personally get depressed after im done smokin and it wears off so i dont use it often but shit id rather be a pothead than a coke or crackhead. and the only negative thing ive ever heard about weed when it comes to lifting is that it lowers test levels or something. besides, if you own a pink bookbag, u shouldnt be embarassed. just wear it and be yourself. ive known many a bookbag and i dont think peanut butter should be used sparingly unless under doctors supervision. allah.
 
now heres a topic..... i always smoke before i go to the gym
smoking is about mindset. lifting is something i love to do, so laziness is not an issue. i think smoking is great for focus, assuming you are focusing on something you love to do. in fact i think ill take some hash rips and get my ass to the gym :chomp:
 
i know a few people that have smoked pot before working out,
i've tried it once before working out, and was able to get in 2 extra reps per set..
 
I have a buddy who is pretty jacked up (good genetics) who is a huge stoner. I've seen him at the gym a few times after hes blazed up. All's he does is decline bench and hammer curls. Daily. What does that tell you?

it tells me that he has good genetics and doesnt know shit about training. not sure what that has to do with the "super"

genetics is such a huge player in everything. aside from the extreme addict that lives in a ditch somewhere using drugs once in a while will probably not keep u from gaining what you normally would anyway

What I meant was he's a dumb shit for going to the gym high, and it can be seen in the fact he only benches and curls, like all the other dumb shits, high or not.
 
I know for myself personally going to the gym high is the dumbest thing for me to do... id prob load up too heavy and drop it right on myself... whether weed helps your concentrate or not it sure doesnt do that to me (couldhave something to do with ADD) and id do way more harm then good...

as for coke i was trying to find out if doing it will decrease mass whether your still eating and workin out hardcore..
 
man ive worked out stoned many times, and everything was good, helps me focus alot more, Plus makes it more fun when your ripped outta your mind.. i have no problem on gains at all, age 17 with 16" biceps, im good to go lol, Summoka weed!
