What does your User Name mean?

THeMaCHinE was an identity that I created during the hardest point of my life.

At the time, I was so devestated emotionally, that I simply felt nothing. Ever. Except panic, numbness and despair. I still functioned -- like a machine -- but I didn't function well. I was... broken. Hence the mix of up-style and down-style letters in my name. This is the first time I've ever told that story.
 
well, I didn't know what name to come up with, so I heated up 4 gallons of chicken soup and when it came to a boil, I poured it down my pants.
then this name came to me in a brief, but memorable epiphany of sound and light....

or it was from a movie.

Machine

Peace is a demon seed resting inside all of us
Can't let the demon free
It is chaos that keeps us going
To carry us to enlightenment
We are brought together by nothing
Locked with our dreamscape
The dream becomes a reality
Soon is formation of myths
Our greatness is nothing
But a faith in ourselves
An understanding of our fears
The mass we seek
Can be felt reaching out
It will find the destionation
Within us
To become us
No knowledge is beyond our limits
Feel the earth with our eyes
Touch the sun with our soul
Sometimes the pain is concealed is sugar
Sweet touch of death
We survive of sarcasm and irony
Letting it build to a fester
Until the explosion
Creates the Machine
Only a beginning
Never an end...

Ranger, you are a gentleman and a scholar. Thank you. I will cut and paste this to read at further length.

Here is a relationship poem I wrote during this period.

Last night, I laid in the darkness
and shut my eyes.
I reached over, draped an arm around you
and held you tight for as long as I could bear.
I thought about when we were young,
when that embrace meant the world us.
I thought about how it used to be: us — a pair,
conquering the world as a team.
And I thought about how things
Have changed since then.

Then I thought about what it was to love,
without the expectation that I be paid back in kind.
To love without strings.
To love without holding a grudge.
To not hold back, though you had hurt me so deeply.
To love simply because I do love.
Regardless of how you feel.
And I held you tighter.

For just a moment, I smiled and thought
About all the things that embrace
Symbolized to me;
what it meant to have you warm
and sleeping by my side.
What it meant to have you in my life.
My family.
Then I thought about all the words that had been said.
Daggers through my heart;
dark ravens picking at my spirit.
Perhaps soon I will be beyond caring.

I have loved you with everything I have.
I take pride in that fact.
And because I loved you well,
especially in the hard times,
I love myself a lot more than I ever thought possible.
 
well my name comes from the fact that when I joined this place I was exactly that.......TUBBY

Still a little tubby but no where near when I started.......so I have that going for me which is nice

anyway, Ranger and TheMachine.....awesome poems......seriously......great stuff

Machine that was great, taking nothing away from your's Ranger buddy. But I think most adults will go through what TheMachine did but never making any kind of sense of things, just hating themselfs more....
Great machine, very moving..


My 'handle' come's from the fact that I work part time as a bouncer, simple.

It was a group of football players in Highschool who threw the keg parties on the weekends. We did it for some extra cash here and there. On our flyers, we put the BBC and a naked girl getting doggie styled, etc.

mine's a request in the never ending process of being fulfilled. i am no longer the kiddie meal i used to be. word to that.
 
Ranger, i enjoyed ur poem, very nice. and machine, nothing hits harder then when its coming from the heart. I will read both again in the future.
 
i forgot, Galen was the surgeon to the roman gladiators who made clinical breakthroughs in human vasculature that later was determined could not have been obtained from cadavers. The bro basically cut apart gladiators for science as they lay dying. Thats dedication to ur science.

My father died of cancer when I was 5, during his life he was a performer (flamenco dancing and ballroom dancing) as well as being a bullfighter in Madrid. He used the stage name Drigo, so its a homage to him......:)
 
Mine is pretty simple to understand...obviously Winnie the Pooh is what I took it from, but used the name of the steroid Winstrol since people call Winstrol -Winny for short. Just tried to be creative.....plus winny is on my list for my first cycle-if I ever get it going.
 
Mike Oxbig, that is an original name, dude! Pretty darn funny I must admit.

My user name is rather lame actually. It means I am "hard" and "gaining" get it... duh!
