i think she has vista, these themes are a pain in the ass to change if you dont want any spyware

i know the layout of vista, but in xp you can go to
start > (right click) my computer > click properties

should show specs of your computer - processor type, amount of ram, and version of windows

it just says Microsoft Windows XP

Version 2002
Service Pack 2

how do you like it?

It's great. Nvidia X windows drivers were a pain to install until I realized I was running a general kernel and the module wouldn't load. There is an IA64 kernel available for Ubuntu, so yes on your question about 64 bit.
