What does grey karma mean?

happens when someone who has < 100 posts or neg. karma, sends karma

But again, today is a day when i've received karma 3 different times from members who have both positive karma and more than 100 posts and they were all grey. What gives with that?

shes right. you can have 5000 posts, but if you only have 1 green karma point your karma is useless.

for some reason, frackal gave me a 5 point boost even though he only has 3 green karma points.

I don't know bout that, Nord.......if you have 1 karma star, the karma you give will be grey, which is pretty well means nadda....if you have 2 green karma stars, the karma you give will be worth 1 point...if you have 3 green karma stars, it'll be worth 2 points, 4 stars = 3 points, 5 stars = 4 points....the only ppl that can give 5 point karma is mods...and, it does not matter if the mod has 1 green star or 5 green stars, the karma they give is still only 5 points....now, the numbers are the same if it's negative also...so, if the person giving you negative karma has 3 green stars, it'll be -2 for you.....like if I give negative karma, it'll be -4
