what do you guys consider cheating??

if i have reg peanuts b/c i ran out of almonds....i consider that cheating. my friend asked me the other day why i was eating rice cakes with my chicken...i told him it was my cheat meal...he was like why don't you just have pizza or something for your cheat meal...i don't know how to explain to him that even though it's just one meal i feel it in my lowers abs when i eat junk like that and makes me feel like i've taken like 5 steps back.....how bout you guys?
 
When I first joined, I did have junk food as my cheat meal. I thought I could go back to that when I started cutting earlier this year, and even last month. I was wrong. It took several attempts this year for me to realize that I can't have junk as a cheat meal any more. Besides the fact that it makes me feel horrible, it sets me back.

I'm trying to go as long as possible with out a cheat (I got back on the cutting horse last Tuesday). When it comes time for me to have one, it will be oatmeal & blueberries.

You don't need to explain anything to him, and if you do, chances are he will JUST not get it ...


I think cheating is completely subjective…

It can be something that you TREAT yourself to, such as pizza, ice-cream or fast food, or a big fat slab of prime rib

A glass of wine

A few drinks on the weekend night of your cheat…

For me, it’s eating 2 cups of oatmeal instead of ½ a cup

A bag of walnuts not ½ cup, a jar of PB instead of 2 TBSP …

There is NOT one right answer.. and def. any answer you give, chances are will not be understood unless you're talking to someone who totally 'gets you' ...
 
atta girl!!! i'm pumped for friday night...i get to eat some buffalo chili (no beens or salt added) as a cheat meal! haha

Just make sure you give yourself what you need in moderation, to avoid BINGING!! Last time I "treated" I woke up leaner & scale weight was less... I'm talking about 2 cups of oatmeal, bag of walnuts, 2 apples, 2 cups eggs beaters, CHEESE, at like 11 pm lol... :) :chomp:

See what works for you, and don't deprive yourself or feel bad ... EVER!

i wish i had your prob...haha. when i cheat i try and make sure it fits in my macros for the day......like you said...everyone does it differently and as long as your seeing progress stick with what works!

now is that plain oatmeal your eating or is it flavored when you cheat?

ALWAYS slow cooked, cinn & splenda ...

I don't think upping your oatmeal intake is a cheat since oatmeal is clean. But yes upping the qty is upping calories.
So is cheating to you guys upping calories or not eating clean?! Or both?!

:) Everyone will have his/her own thoughts on the matter .. as with anything :)

Like I said cheating is based on the person trying to define it ... Cheating to me is eating more of something clean / plenty of some things unclean /something NOT in my normal daily routine / as taste buds changes, so do my cheats ...

There is No one correct answer to what cheating is, as everyone will have a different take based on current goals, lives, situations and TASTE BUDS... then you get those that say, “You don’t have to cheat if you have everything in moderation & just eat right…ala no cravings.”

For example, Fast food & pizza & ice cream & all that crap is JUST not appealing to me at all whatsoever period ... so now, I don't ‘cheat’ b/c my list of cheat foods significantly differ from the ideas of what yours are? Or what you consider ‘clean’? It’s all individual :)

This is me speaking in general... there is NOT one answer for some people out there ... I can tell you the times where I've downed 2 pints of Ben & Jerry's in less than 30 minutes ... I've eaten 2 large Papa johns Pizza, wings, cheese garlic sticks, etc... don’t even take me to an Italian restaurant ...

Damn..consider raw peanuts cheating? I consider peanuts a healthy fat..not as good as almonds but surely damn close!

As far as the cheat meal goes, I think it is more based on you (as others have stated) because psychologically you think to yourself "damn, I worked this hard all week why blow it away now"

I'm with bunny, my cheat day is normally just more of the cleanest food there is..still makes me feel good about myself :p

I just have ZERO taste for what is considered typical cheat foods right now ... I'm sure that WILL change, not worried about that ...
 
i cheated lastnight big time =( had a carver turky sandwitch some roasted turky breast a side of steamed veggies a side of green beans and some red potatoes all in one huge meal i felt so bloated and full omg it was delecious i been hardcore dieting for 2 weeks cardio evry morning and weights 3 times a week in the evening on about 22hun calories a day i needed it but when i was done i felt like a slutty whore lmao

Sometimes you need to cheat to make any new gains. Your body gets too used to the caloric intake and protein/fat/carb percentages.
Pizza or thai for dinner once a fortnight isn't going to change your bodyfat by percentages.
