What do we call ourselves???

If we're from the US, we call ourselves American....But if your from Mexico or Canada..also part of North America, you call yourselves Mexican or Canadian....when they are Americans as well....Right?
Shouldn't we be the United Statesians?????

I'm shaking my fist at you right now. Hey, i just remember this dream I had last night. I went all commando in a park full of children. I didn't have any weapons but I was crawling around and the park was fraught with peril let me tell you. Also, everyone in my dream was deformed except me.
Finally, I awoke and had a seething rage boil to the surface and decided it was time to hunt down the Nature Boy and shoot him in the scrotum.
