What did YOU learn today?

Today I learned several things:

1. A large tractor tire, after lying on it's side for more than 24 hours, settles.
2. It is pretty much impossible to get your hands under the sides of a large tractor tire after it has settled.
3. A crow bar and a 2x4 will get the large tractor tire high enough to where you can slide your hands under it.
4. Dirt on the large tractor tire makes it very slick.
5. Take time to clean your large tractor tire.


I always strive to learn something new in the gym every week.

I haven't worked out since Sunday, but nevertheless I've learnt a lot...

- there are more important things than working out
- I have big abs that show easily when I don't eat enough
- I can go very long periods without food, water and sleep and be okay
- more stress = less muscle
 
When doing hill sprints, remember the geese that were on the hill first, so that you won't decide to lay down from exhaustion and get up with goose shit all over your back

what I learned today-

walking lunges holding a 45lb BB in a crowded gym can cause injuries (not to me).

heavy leg presses are inferior to medium-weight squats.

donkey calve raises when wearing low-cut sports bra draws alot of attention.
 
I just found out that I live three blocks from Eddie Van Halen's House.

I also learned that working 13 hours a day makes it really hard to get to the gym afterwards. But I do it anyways. Barely.

Getting up at 4:50 am sucks ass.

And finally, I learned that this board is a good place to come home to.

i told nonerz that yesterday as she was doing zerchers and the bar was pulling at her top.

how come women never listen to a guy about matters of "catching a peek". we are trained to do this from childhood.:spatts:
 
I learned that 1.5 hours is not enough time to digest the food from a buffet.

I learned that doing barbell rows and squats after the buffet makes me want to throw up.

I'm fairly certain that they were not aware she was even DOING an exercise........or cared for that matter.........:D

i learned that just because i get down and stressed out i shouldnt miss a day in the gym...especially when that is usually what helps me most.
 
I learned last week that you don't need to squat to be strong. A big bench press is all that is needed.

A 160 pound walk-on freshman told me this while doing his hammer curls with the 25's last week.

Gee.. I dont even know what to say.I guess thats why Im one of the only people at the gyms here that squats.I guess Ill tell the others we are wasting time :rolleyes: Im throwing my stupid chucks away now

I learned that I need to train the events more,and Im still not eating enough.Also I guess I just learned that Im screwed since I have long arms,and have been wasting my time squatting.
 
my arms are to short to do chins on anything but the power rack round bar, and that assisted chins on the machine put your shoulders in a painful position and I wont do those again because my should is swollen now

I learned that I'm oblivious to my "booby power!" Now I REALLY can't wait to get my BIG bouncy boobs! ;)

But really...I've learned to listen to my body...now if I could just do what it tells me! I'm still learning how to take a compliment and to not be so damn hard on myself! Work in progress...
 
i learned i cant work out my triceps when ive hurt my elbow playing football :( I want to!!! They're faaaading away!!!
 
Humble pie is best served with a sprinkle of reality.

When I think I'm big & strong and all that, some dude comes in this morning and cranks out 9 on the bench with 315, then 405 for 3.

i'm always humbled when i see vids of josh bryant and dave gulledge...just shows me where and why i'm training. take it as motivation brotha..i always do!! tb
