I was thinking of this thread for 2 reasons.

1- the songs thread here today, excellent thread by the way., and
2- as some of you Toronto peeps know the El Mocambo is closing this weekend.
I only got to go once this past winter for the first time and loved it but know it has had many great bands play there including the Rolling Stones back in 1977 when the Infamous Maggie Trudeau thing happened( for those of you who dont know Maggie was a former prime minister's wife and got caught up in uncompromising situation with the Stones lol)

Anyways here are some of the concerts I have seen over the years that I remember, where , and any comments if any.

Beach Boys- Lake Placid, Ny (First concert ever, 1986, met Mike Love in the elevator of our hotel after the show). Old fogies and youg would have fun at one of their shows, very good stuff

U2- Joshua Tree Tour 1987 at Montreal's Olympic Stadium, First huge concert, and to me U2 aqt their best even though the othe other stuff they have had over the years was and is pretty good.
Little Steven(Now Sylvio On the Sopranos) and Los Lobos opened

Bon Jovi- New Jersey tour 1988 Montreal Forum, got kicked out before the first song(Lay your hands On me) was finished for being too intoxicated. Oh well. Funny part is I can sing most of their songs today pretty good/

Rolling Stones-1989(I think) Montreal Olympic Stadium. I included this one because I sold my ticket to be able to go to Peel Pub for our get together after the show right before the show. Hey I was in cegep and beer was more important

Faith no More/Metallica/Gun's n Roses 1992, Montreal Olympic Stadium. I remember this one well for a few reasons. First being I got a sixth row centre ticket by trading a waterproof walkman for it(remember those) 2. James Hetfield getting burned by pyrotechnics 3/4 thru the show 3. Metallica promised to come back and play again and they came back and did 2 shows for $14 a ticket(their cost) and 4. Axl Rose walking off the stage 45minutes into the set causing a riot. It was a blast I must say and worth every penny just to be part of that shit.

John Mellencamp/ Blue Rodeo Montreal Forum 1994. I wanna get naked tour. Great show. Mellencamo had a heart attack 2 weeks later or whateve the fuck is wrong with his heart from smoking 400 packs of smokes a day

Green Day Montreal Forum 1995...Last time at the old Montreal Forum before they shut it down. $20 a ticket too. Good show cept my ffriend restraining me from trying to climb up the chairs to kick a guys ass for a loogie he horked that landed on my shoulders

April Wine- Bourbon Street 1996(I beleieve) Great show by a great Canadian Band.

Saw a band called Capone and a few others in a club in montreal in 1995 cant remember

U2 1997- Skydome Toronto- Pop Mart tour...good show not as good as Joshua tree though

Anvil- 2001- El Mocambo...Old heavy metal band from the 80's pretty good shit

Thats all I can remember now, what shows and where did ya see em?

Well April Wine is playing right now, "I like to Rock"

Only fuckers I cant do the voice of cept the eagles and Rod Stewart.

I am heading out but clean as a whistle.

I haven't been to many big concerts. Let's see...

U2 Popmart tour in 1997. Just amazing. 65,000 people going nuts. A highlight of my life.

AC/DC Ballbreaker tour 1996. Really, really loud. I was high as a kite from everyone smoking pot around me. :) Good time.

Ummm...a few smaller shows in local bars. Oh, and I was at a big rock festival this summer. Nickelback, Collective Soul, 54-40, and a shitload of other bands I was working with a local sports team so I got in free. Had a blast...don't remember much. :)

I'd kill to see U2 again. Maybe in a few years...
