It'll say what DOT it is on the master cyclinder cover, or where ever you fill it up. Go to the parts store and buy some of said DOT, then compare colors. Owners manuals are a must for anyone who wants to turn their own wrench. Last time I filled up I'm thinking was DOT 4, and pretty clear with a faint brown tinge.curling said:I have no idea what opaque looks like. Can you use primary and secondary colors if you don't mind. I have to use Dot 4 only!! If your fluid is not "somewhat" C-Through and it's a orangish-blackish color, its contaminated from brake dust. It will still work, but I would Change it out just to be sure.
