The reason Canada is never attacked is because terrorists, barbarians and other warmongers usually forget that it's there.

yeah but when you want something from us you sure pretend we're best buds...

No way, we own you guys...you are like an 'accessory' to the United States...kind of like, we are the expensive limousine, and you guys are like the cheap air freshener hanging behind the mirror in the driver's compartment...

No just kidding, we love you Canucks though, you guys make simply wonderful pets. :-D

The truth is because we welcomed them gave them a wealhfare check
give them a house, foot, money, freedom of some dickhead liberals
we accept them even if they are searched by 1000 world agencies
and we will surely loose theirs traces anyway

I agree with test boy on just about all accounts. He has the same view point as I. I lived in many countires, some for 2 years straight, including the USA.

The USA has an awsome economy and many pluses. But many Americans do not realize that they are very opressed in their everyday life, there are too many examples to list here, but if you want to know what many Europeans know, go for a vacation to Holland, you will see. There are many others.

Further, the US standard of living ranks about 4th in the world. It's really one of those things where you have to live there to see, just like test boy said.

I am not bashing the US by anymeans, It's a really great place and i like it a lot, but we must no be as blind as to think there is no place better. Bigger? Maybe not, Better? Sure.

Maybe but there's no WTC here. No Timothey McVeigh. Instead of pissing off other countries we remain silent. Keep getting hurt for us. We truly appreciate.

Legally: We have probably as much freedom as anyone.

Realistically: We miss a great deal simply so much of society is SO uptight. Now we have political correctness as well. Just more employment opportunities for our blood thirsty lawyers.

Taking the first paragraph of your post I'd have to strongly disagree with you. As an outsider looking in (I'm Irish) I can not believe some of the things I read here as regards American law.

I'm also constantly amazed at how small mind the vast majority of member's here are.
Now having said that I don't think there's a country in the world whose public shows so much love for it. I wish Ireland was the same.

SURE, There are a couple of Countries with:

More Social Open Minds
More Personal Freedoms (not many)
Less violent crime
Better Social / Financial equality
Complete Birth to Death Govmt Assistance Gaurantee's
Stronger Economy(this year)

But if you put the whole pkg together and put the Positives and the Negatives in columns,
the United States of America is the obvious winner IMO.

This is the reason so many countries hate us and want to destroy us.
They know their people are jealous and want to have the same opportunities while keeping rigid social / religious traditions.
That cannot work.

This is why every decade that goes by, the US becomes less ethnic and more Melting pot.

How do you define freedom? Are you talking laws or social custom?

In my experience the social custom of the US is more oppressive generally speaking than Spain (it´s very big, however. I´m talking mostly about California.) Just go to the beach here for proof! Thongs and breasts everywhere!:)

Also, drug possession (for personal comsumption) was decriminalized here over a decade ago. Any drug. IT´s perfectly OK to smoke la maria in your local bar. Some rebels light up on the bus. This could go on...
