I finished Clive Cusslers "Sahara" a little while ago.

If I had remembered to bring it with me I'd be reading "The Ten Thousand" by Ford.

Koonin's Computational Physics, although a very old text and deals mostly with Basic, it teaches subroutines for EigenVectors and operations on Matrices.

Just finished A Million Little Pieces by James Frey; Excellent read, regardless of what or what wasn't embellished.

Also tearing my way through every Douglas Preston/Lincoln Child book I can find; right now, I'm on The Cabinet of Curiosities. Reads very similar to Dan Brown.

Just finishing Good Omens (an oldy but a goody) and about to start Book of Shadows ... I really do most of my reading when on vacation -- I don't like to read in fits and starts, I'll plow through 10 or more books in a week. My husband gave me a stack of novels for christmas in anticipation of summer vacation :D

"General and Organic Chemistry for medical professionals"
Prof. Guido Maes, Phd

"The Master and Margarita"
Michail Bulgakov

"Women and children first"
Peter Terrin

"German for Dummies"
-whoever writes these things.

Current fiction is "Turning Angel" by Greg Iles - I've read most of this guy's work - he's a great writer but also writes on a wide range of topics.

Current non-fiction is " PHP & MySQL for Dummies", also the installation guide for dotproject.net.

Driving for Asians by the West Virginia Deptartment of Motor Vehicles

The Taoist Secrets of Long Life and Good Health by Charles Chan, not a book I'd usually read but the wife bought me it as a present. It looks like one of those teach yourself yoga books with lots of pictures of people in pajamas doing meaningful poses but it's actually more a gentle introduction into Taoist philosophy and the techniques they have used for centuries to stave off the aging process including alternate herbal recipes for illnesses etc.

On a side note, I was talking to a Russian guy today and the subject came up in conversation. He told me that he's been taking trips up to Burma every year for 6 years to take part and study an ancient method of extending life. He said the monks there have been practicing some strange rebirthing method which enables them to live for hundreds of years. He described it as a kind of wooden box which they hole up in for months completely shutting off contact with the outside world, a bit like a sensory isolation chamber. When they come out they are somehow reborn and revitalized? He reckons there are monks over 600 years old living in these temples and that the military government is afraid of what’s going on there.

I'm as skeptical as the next guy and didn't buy it for a second but now I'm curious. He says he has video footage and has invited me to come and learn more about it. What gets me is that he's an intelligent switched on guy and when he talks you can see that he truly believes in it?

Trust me, asians dont live super long. they tend to get more exercise and have a healthier diet than americans and europeans so they live some longer but nothing unnatural. they just look alike so much that they replace them without anyone noticing and people think its the same guy. really.
