what body type would you choose when beginning.....

just wondering if u guys had the choice to start ur training careers with either:

- a low body fat (approx 150-160 @ 10-12%bf)
- a high body fat (approx 200+ @ 17-20% bf)

which one would it be? and why?
 
Honestly the fat person might have a better frame, but then again I wish I were naturally leaner, although if the metabo is too fast you'd have to eat like a mad dog which could suck too, so a balance would be prefered for me I think, hmm.

I don't compete and don't plan to, so for me its not going to be the same as someone wanting to be competitive I suppose.
 
a 200lb person at 20% bf would have more lean mass than a 160lb person at 12%

so I would go with the 200lb person
 
150-160 lower bf, thats where I started and now I am 210 lbs around 8 %. I had a good frame for my size though. A lot of times endomorphs will be much better fit for bodybuilding even if they start out a bit fat.
 
i would choose the larger person. being that i have been very tall and thin for the most part of my life, it just seems like it would be easier to accomplish my goals if I had more to work with.
 
I would choose the one with the bigger frame. Whether fat or skinny, you are going to have to be dedicated one way or the other to get anywhere. A bigger frame is like giving you more room for improvement in the future!
