What alcoholic drinks can I have that won't kick me out of Keto?

I think any of them will kick you out. Hard liquor prolly the best option, but I am by no means the expert on this.

tequila is * i'm pretty sure * the lowest sugar content...

the alcohol you drink will put you out of keto untill the calories have been burned as energy.

once they have been burned you will resume keto

I read an article about this vodka company who started the first vodka made out of SOY

they claim the market niche they've captured are atkins people.. I guess they claim soy vodka has less carbs than potato vodka or wheat vodka.. although to the best of my knowledge all vodka has zero "carbs" as we know them.

but yeah your body has to burn the alcohol first it could kick you out

Gear + alchohol = bad idea!

Alcohol in general is bad, but alcohol while on a cycle... ouch!

Thanx mom. Thats just the help I was looking for on this thread. What you think you just taught me something? I'm not using orals and don't plan to have too many.

If ya can't be helpful than don't reply plese.

I think the point everyone is stressing is that ANY alcohol will knock you out of ketosis. If you're going to drink your best bet is something that is as low of a proof as possible and not mixed with a sugar-based mixer.

To make a long story short, there is no way to get drunk and stay in ketosis :p. One or two 40 proof scotch on the rocks very rarely probably won't hurt.

Gee, I'm sorry for giving a fuck.

Drink wine, or straight liquor such as scotch, rye, vodka, and gin, as long as the mixer is sugarless; this means no juice, tonic water, or non-diet soda. Seltzer, diet tonic and diet sodas can be used/added. Also, try absinthe, but make sure you overdose.

WTF???

ALCOHOL WILL PUT YOU DEEPER INTO KETOSIS!!!!!

The higher the proof the alc the better. Dont drink any mixed drinks or beer. Stick to spirts. If you mix then just mix with diet coke.

Beware though the effects will be much more pronouncec when in ketosis meaning you will drunk quicker.

Wine????

I thought that wine was all sugar...and much more calorie-dense than straight liquor....vodka being the best choice...Rum being the worst.

^your body will use the alcohol calories for energy until it's gone.

so...........you won't be burning fat cals

true

but for same reason liquor will put you into deeper ketosis, so not to worry about kicking you out if thays the concern.

Now thats the kind of reply I was looking for. Thanks and sorry for biting your head off. BTW thats one mean ass cycle you got there. Over 3 gms a week. Holy fuck!

I ended up drinking vodka with club soda. Taste like shit, but you get used to them.

Thanx to everyone for their replys.

MIAMI, Dec 31, 2003 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- A scant 66 calories per cocktail (based upon 1 ounce of BACARDI Superior (white) rum and one 6 oz. serving of the leading national diet cola brand, BACARDI(R) Rum and DietCola is the perfect drink for those making lower calorie cocktail choices. Even fans of incredibly popular carb-free programs who choose to drink need not deprive themselves of an occasional cocktail because a BACARDI(R) Superior Rum and Diet Cola cocktail offers a refreshing solution with no carbs and no sugar. It tastes smooth, light and fantastic - with 0 grams of guilt.

And just think how effortlessly those 66 calories can be eliminated. Calories can be worked off easily by dancing for 13 minutes, or jogging for 10 minutes or strolling for 28 minutes. Talk about a "smart cocktail!"

"The key to healthy living is learning how to balance exercise, eating habits, sleep and our crazy lives," says Dr. Fred Pescatore, author of the best selling book Thin For Good and the former director of the NYC based Atkins Center. If you want to have a cocktail, it should be a smart one like BACARDI(R) Superior Rum and diet cola which has no carbs or sugar."

"Many people make the assumption that a light beer or a glass of wine would be the smart choice but little do they know that during the distillation process for the Superior (white) rum, the sugar disappears and the alcohol remains. In some wine and beer, the alcohol content is lower and the sugar and carb level is far greater. The result is that a typical glass of light beer still has about 99 calories plus 5 grams of carbs and red wine has 74 calories and 2 carbs," says Pescatore. "If you're watching calories or carbohydrates and like to have a drink after work, that's fine, as long as it's one of the smart cocktails," he continued.

With the arrival of the New Year, it's the ideal time to begin the right way - by making smart choices and having fun in the process. With the changing of the calendar year can come a balanced and happy change of lifestyle. For those who enjoy cocktails responsibly, BACARDI Superior and diet cola it will make it easier than ever before.

^ wow bump for anyone who has tried this bacardi rum

Dude, you could practically qualify me as a pirate with all of the rum I drink. I'll co-sign to Bacardi Superior being a decent rum.

Bacardi Superior - clear
Bacardi Select - dark
Bacardi Gold - spiced
Bacardi Limon - lemon
Bacardi Coco - coconut

Ciclon is Bacardi Gold mixed with Tequila

I go for lemon vodka and club soda.....or diet tonic...but I find I do better with the club soda

i wonder if captain morgn rum and diet pepsi would work??

Kettle one and tonic

My car-ups are on Saturdays, so I if I drink, I only drink on Satrudays right now. That way I don't worry about being kicked out of ketosis. I also take a bunch of R-ALA when I drink.

II am still waiting to see what Mr.X has to say on this. I'm drinking tonight, and it's probably gonna be vodka and diet coke. eveen though diet coke has aspartame in it, I figured since I'm drinking, what the fuck. gonna kick me out of ketosis anyway, right?

Also, Mr.X, if aspartame kicks you out of keto, how long will it take one to get back into ketosis?

Keep in mind that the nutritional value that is listed above is for LESS than one shot of rum. Your tastes are just going to have to change. If you are going to drink, drink the occasional drink because you enjoy the taste, not to get drunk. Drinking "low carb friendly" Bacardi is pointless if you've just downed a 5th of it in order to get completely shnockered.
