That's such boolshit.

yeah, pretty much.

it was an abandoned building in the middle of the woods. it's on 30 acres of land and the property next to it (cow farm) has around 50 acres. that's how remote it is.
4 other kids got caught. the Probation guy said, 'i can't believe i have to waste my time with this'.

I used to hate walking into my office when I was working at the county. The court house was in the same building and all of the freaks were always hanging out there. Riding in the elevator was a joy too - people who do not like to shower like riding in the elevator.

I remember you posting about it. Punish teenagers in a rural area for going and seeing something new. It's not like they were vandalizing anything or doing drugs in there.

yup, exactly. i mean, yeah, they knew they shouldn't be there- but it was abandoned and WIDE open. the doors weren't locked. it used to be an Inn, that was then used to house adults with mental problems, then it was abandoned.

during the hearing, the judge asked my son why he went in. he's 6'1" with facial hair, but he's still just 16. he said, "we heard it was haunted".

they didn't damage anything and none of them had drugs or alcohol. these are good kids, for real. good parents too. they ride dirt bikes and don't drink.

we had to hire an attorney, all of us.

some bitch was talking loud on her cell phone while we waiting for the doors to open.
they opened and we went and gave our name. when it was her turn, she complained that she was there first (she wasn't).

some guy got pissed at her. oh yeah, that's what you guys need. more trouble.

lol There is a reason why she was there.

Out local court house is right next to the Greyhound station too. WTF. Like a double whammy of freaks.

Oh and that sucks the big wang.

It's supposed to be a year of probation, 30 hours of community service, and no unsupervised time with his best friends.

the PO said that this was a waste of his time and that if he does everything he's supposed to do, he'll reduce it down to 6 months.

he also said that when he was a kid, he would have gone into the building too.

That is just f00ked. A childhood rite of passage has always been trespassing in haunted buildings...they might as well just criminalize kool-aid stands. :silly:

I'm waiting for some jagoff with the health department to go and hassle kids for that. There are a few places in the neighborhoods around me that set those up. Sweet kids.

Interesting, kids and their parents have to spend probably up to 5K to defend utter bullshit, then the kids and their families have to be inconvenienced with the bullshit stipulations that are put on them for aforementioned bullshit, yet abusers and molestors and violators of many peoples' civil rights go unnoticed....

I just have to shake my head in disgust.

A more productive use of my time is to go out for my morning cup of extra lg light w/cream no sugar dunkin donuts cup of coffee.

Such fukkin bullshit...

*sigh*

the whole thing cost me around $1,000 for the attorney and court fees.
now the state has to pay his probation officer for his time (x5 boys, none of whom have ever been in trouble before), plus the cost of any drug tests they decide to do (now that they are on probation, they are subject to random drug testing).

I should sue the owner of the building for not securing it, except that would be retarded and also he's disappeared.
but I bet there are people who would do it and win.

Yep, it is retarded but we're a litigious people, and I've heard of people winning these kind of lawsuits, especially when underage kids are involved and there's *enticement* such as unsecured entry.

part of our lawyer's defense was that the building entices teenagers, who are from a totally rural area where there isn't much to do at night anyway.

He said, they weren't cow tipping, they weren't knocking down mailboxes or doing anything destructive. They weren't drinking, smoking, or with girls. they just wanted to check it out.

so, whatever. we'll go over to the courthouse building every 6 or 8 or 10 weeks. My son was already doing community service (for no reason), so now he just has to keep track of it.

dude, my other grandparents are dead. they didn't have anything to do with it either.

They're pretty crafty.

I don't think you're giving them enough credit.
