Weirdness abounds.......

...realy weird happenings down my way the last couple of days...this morning tops it off.

4:45 am - can't sleep as per usual, so I am already awake...My Rott starts acting really strange...very anxious - growling and stuff.

5 minutes later - the entire house shifts...windows rattle...the closet door in my bedroom rattles and the wind chimes are audible which are about 15 feet from the closest bed room window.

I hop up...turn on the porch light and look outside....nothing...the chimes are not even moving....I flip on the radio b/c I was sure that a bad storm was brewing.

NOpe.


Turned out to be a tremor from an earthquake

Have you found out what it registered on the Richter scale?

We had one 3.5 or 4.5 a couple of years ago. The whole house seemed to slide around and rattle. Interesting stuff to us who rarely if ever experience something like that.

An earthquake that got rolling in northeast Alabama shook North Georgia awake at 5 a.m. today.

The U.S. Geological Survey reported that the temblor was centered near Fort Payne, Ala., and registered a 4.9 on the Richter Scale

luckily no.......scared the crap out of me though....they said that the fault line here in Ga is very deep 10 miles+ so there isnt a lot of house shaking etc

We get little ones all the time here. Apparently the San Andreas fault line has Tourette's.
