try it out and let us know how it works!

:coffee:

I have a 40# (max....I often remove some of the weight) I use it for doing interval/sprint training. Serious burn in the quads wearing that sucker. Start out with under 20# or your knees will hate you for it!

I have a 40 lb weighted vest. I use it to walk a steep incline on the treadmill. it is a good workout but I notice my neck will get sore after using it for more than 40 minutes or so. It tends to pull down on the traps. I wouldn't use it that much, maybe a few times a week, but it can wear you out and your knees can get sore....at least mine did.

they have their place in my opinion of runners and bikers.

but for anyone else it seems odd.

They are actually quite beneficial for LE (SWAT) and Fire and Military to get used to carrying rucksacs, SCBA's or tactical gear.

clarification:

Anyone that does endurance types of events of labor for prolonged Periods of time OUTDOORS.

I have seen people in gyms just walking around with them whle lifting or on the eliptical doing cardio and I find that pretty stupid.

Weight vests fight the body's metabolic adaptive component and adds resistance. Ever wonder why it's easier for ppl who are overweight to drop BF at a phenomonal rate opposed to someone who is 10%or below, and trying to get to 6 or 7%? Because the excess weight means higher caloric daily expenditure. Add exercise, and more energy is required. Go into a cal. deficit, and boom. SO if you throw on a vest during say 45 min of cardio, youre going to burn off more calories to support that added weight. Sorry if it isnt too articulate, you get the point though.
