Weight training when cutting

When cutting, is there really any benefit of weight training? Obviously pros lift precontest but how do they make any gains when cutting back calories and doing cardio. I just dont see how its possible to get bigger when cutting down to nearly 3-5% bf. Can anyone explain this for me? I appreciate it. :)

I've wondered this too. I do believe that you cna still get muscle when cutting - it just happens sorta slowly. IE - most cutting diets still maintain a hella lot of protein.

Remember - your muscle has only two states. Catabolic and anabolic. By working out you can maintain the anabolic state.

Ok, now will an expert please correct me and help this poor fellow out?
