Weight and strength is climbing...

I have been back, hitting the weights for a little over a month now. My weight and strength is coming back slowly but surely. I am only working my upper-body now and I will start working my lower body once my upper-body strength is up to par. Lower-body work will probably start in another 30 days.

I weighed 274 lbs. 12 days ago. I weighed 290 lbs. today. Not bad. Most of it is probably water weight and a little fat but at least my equipment fits again. :D Hopefully I will be up over 300 lbs. in the next 30 days. I am shooting for 320 lbs. and then I will cut back down to the 308's to compete.

Damn, I wish my strength levels were comparable to my bodyweight. Just need time, I guess. :rolleyes:
 
I was off for personal and professional changes. I also had a two month period where I was sick all of the time. I stopped training around Thanksgiving of 2002. I trained sporadically throughout early 2003 but nothing serious.

I'm thankful for muscle memory and years of training experience. It is so much easier to get back to a place you have been. I remember how difficult it was for me to get to 300+ lbs. bodyweight the first time. Next stop - 320 lbs. :D

Sorry about the delayed response. Is it safe to assume you are not training this week before the meet on Saturday? How soon will you resume training after the meet?

For the next 30 days or so I would be interested in training with you on either your DE or ME Bench Days (Friday, Saturday and Sunday are best for me). I'll start working my legs again once my raw bench is up to par and my core is stronger. I'm not really into speed bench anymore. All speed benching (bands specifically) does for me is give me tendonistis in my arms. I move all weights I lift as fast as I can and my speed is better than ever. Anyway, I'm up for whatever you want to do. Just give me a date and a time and I'll meet you at a place convenient for you. Sound good? :D

I will probably hit lower body as usual next week,

ME usually falls on FRI for me. We have a couple of options where to lift.

1. Vanessa runs the Mustang HIgh weight room during the summer, so we have free reign of that place(and no membership fees for either of us!)

2. We could hit Bodytech in Moore. Nice equip, bands, chains etc, -Plus its about 1/2 way for both of us.

3. We could take turns between each others gyms.

Lemme know what you think.

PS. Weekends are great for DE SQ>>>Sure you dont want some of that?

How about... I'll meet you at your gym on Friday, August 8 for an ME bench day. Let me know the time and provide some directions and I will be there.

We will see about the DE squat workout. :rolleyes:
