Week 5 - 400mgs Test Cyp/week

Sorry for the length, but I wanted to give you guys the background on what I am doing in case anyone else has a similar experience.

First cycle. I am 38, 5'11. I was fluctuating between 185-195 pre-cycle/not training at all. I am now back in the gym after too long away. Following an HST based routine (m-w-f). My old routine was kind of a three/six day split (chest shoulders & tris - Back & Bis - legs - do it again, then day off) so the three day a week routine is brand new to me...I am doing the new routine on faith after reading the information in the training vault. I am new to the idea that your whole body needs 36-48 hrs for your central nervous system to fully recover in order to get the most growth from your training session. I am finding training the whole body every time I workout to be very tiring.

Courtesy of my local anti-aging clinic: I am on Week 5 of 10 week "program" consisting of 400mgs/week testosterone cypionate, 50mgs/day DHEA, 6iu/week (2ius three days/week injected post workout) human growth hormone - somatropin, 500mgs/week HCG. I boosted the test from 300mgs to 400mgs on my own because I had the extra test on hand. His script called for 300/week not 400. I'll post more at little later about my confusion regarding what is going on with my doctor's approach....

I have gone from 185-195 to 215 in the blink of an eye. Making decent muscle gains (so far), but obviously I gaining some fat/water too. Can't really complain about gaining between 20 and 30 lbs (depends on where you start me from) in 5 weeks!!

My diet is not very sophisticated (don't have the time or expertise to be sure that I am balancing six meals a day calories/carbs/protein, etc). Instead, I am trying to eat as clean as I can as much as I can (lean proteins such as boiled eggs, tuna, chicken, steaks, lean pork chops etc., oatmeal & fruit for breakfast/preworkout)...plus two to three protein shakes per day, multi V, fish oil, BCAA, creatine & drinking tons of H2O. While I don't plan on letting the bloat get out of hand, I'll worry about cutting later in the game. Given that I am "on the comeback trail" I am more concerned about putting my overall muscle/tendon stength in the best possible condition rather than trying to walk that fine line between staying lean and developing muscle.

Back to my doctor: I am not really sure if what I am on is a cycle or some kind of anti-aging maintainence plan. When I first when to the doc he said that my blood work showed really low test (205) and moderately low growth hormone. What I am on now represents his prescription to correct those problems. I have no idea what he plans to do with me after this 10 week program is over! According to his assistant, we are going to schedule an appt for 4 days after my last shot when they will do my blood work again. At that point he will present me with my options going forward. Obviously, waiting that long to find out what I am doing beyond the tenth week makes me a little nervous (what about planning for my PCT - post cycle therapy - - post cycle therapy ?) The fact that we are waiting that late to meet tells me that he plans ro keep me on the test for a while. My guess is that this is his typical approach to new patients: he wants to see how I respond to the test before he even thinks about getting more agressive, i.e. introducing anabolic androgenic steroids (Nandralone, etc.). That makes sense to me, I mean, you don't just walk in to one of this clinics and tell the doc that you want Anadrol. My hope is that he will keep boosting my test no matter what (i.e. I want to stay on a TRT plan) and that we will add some Nandralone and/or Anavar to the equation from time to time for as long as my blood work says that I am okay. That would be a dream come true for me. Human grade-gear plus the peace of mind that comes from having a doctor monitor your body!! I will probably drop the human growth hormone - somatropin - altogether because it is way too expensive for me to stay on long term. If the doc decides that he just wants to do TRT with me and no anabolic androgenic steroids, then I will be researching people's thoughts on the best way to sprinkle a few cycles a year on top of the TRT and grab the anabolic androgenic steroids from outside sources. Man, am I fired up to make this change to my life! Better living through chemistry!!!

Looking forward to your feedback. I'll keep you posted.

I am exploring the insurance thing right now. This doc doesn't accept insurance so its up to me to make the application for coverage. I'll let you know what happens.
