Weather stripping a door?

My new apt is very close to the front door of the building which, combined with the fact that my actual door is a piece of kleenex, makes my living room VERY COLD in the winter. What is the best and easiest way to handle this problem?

FYI - I bought some foam/rubber weather strip at Home Depot. Pretty easy to install - one side is sticky and the other is covered with a peel-off covering. Toughest part is that my door is not level, so on any side there are different size gaps between it and the wall. So dar it is working well. But I need to take the door off the hinges today so I can do the bottom, which is the biggest problem so far.

There are several thing you can do to minimize the draft comming through your door.
First off don't take the door off yet. Make sure all the screws are tight on all the hinges. Once thats done look for the gaps around your door.
Now say there's a gap on door knob side top or bottom put a small shim (piece of carboard) between door jam and hinge that is across from largest gap, most cases this will work. Same if gap is at top door knob side put shim on lower hinge.
If you have a gap on the bottom you may want to try a door sweep, there are many types and its hard to say unless I get more details of door bottom. You may also need a new threshold that could be bit tricky to match up and install. The foam stripping will help. Contacting the manager may get results as well. Good luck.
BTW I've 22 years exp. in DIY and that is what I do for a living facilities maintenance.

thanks for the advice brother. I actually did the foam on the sides and the top of the door, but the major gap was at the bottom and the foam wouldn't stay. I ended trying several door sweeps until I found a little plastic u-shaped number that slides on and extends down at the bottom. HUGE difference.
