Weather in Florida ??!!

Hi there! Need some help of you Florida-residents...
Coming to Florida next week for 2 weeks vacation; saw on the net that weather there isn`t pretty good at the moment!!
Planning to stay around Pompano OR Sarasota/Ft.Myers !!
Any suggestions or hidden secrets for a traveller ??
Already worked out at:

One thing I can tell you is when it rains in Florida I mean it rains!It rains so hard that if you are not from that type of climate I would sugest you be very cautious or pull your vehicle over til' it stops.

im from southwest florida. and yes, when it rains, it pours, but only for a few minutes, then the sun comes back out.

Yeah the weather here is so messed up sometimes. The sun can be out and shining...and it can be raining like a mutha. Get a sunburn and a cold at the same time.

...anyways come visit the Sunshine State. Drive all night if you have too.

Every other tourist is here...why not one more
