Hard to say, i can see us going to war easily, but i can also see him letting inspectors in to avoid conflict for now....I'm with goerge, i think he wants to strike first with some sort of terrorism attack, and then say he had nothing to do with it.....why wait for that? attack and destroy him now..

I would never enlist in the military.

Although, I was offered a full scholarship to West Point, but that just proves that the military wants the best and the brightest.

I have much more to offer to this world. You grunts go kill yourself and other grunts from a different country while I save lives and bring people into this world.

I am 100% right wing and pro military, but i do not support this.

As far as any soldier itching to go to war, my step-dad was in Nam, as Recon. He does not like to talk about it. He also stated that anyone from Nam that brags about it never saw any action. He told me that even in war, you kill your first person and you do a lot of soul searching afterwards. My girlfriend's dad was in Nam too, and he says the same thing. It is not all glory and parades being in a fire fight, watching your brothers getting gun downed. Killing other people.

I think the real solution is to back off support to Israel and let the middle east fight amongst themselves.

The main problem with going into Iraq, is what happens when we feel the job is done? Lets say for some reason we get lucky and take out Saddam, then what? Who is going to run the country? Then we also get to worry about Iran. Guess we need to invade them next? This mission has a purpose that i do not think can be obtained. We will never find Saddam, even if we do, then what? I suppose the middle east will be peaceful. I suppose terrorism will be obsolete? Yeah right.

People who waffle and change their minds when the reality they ask for is now presented to them disgust me. I don't want war, but I welcome the opportunity to serve again. I have been doing this since 1983 and if possible I will do this for another 24 years.

I took my final oath for the marine corps at the mep center in Columbus yesterday, I am shipping ASAP to paris island, I asked if I could leave any sooner then the 29th, they said the absolute soonest I can ship to boot camp is th 19th of this month.:)

I do not disagree that the US has put these people in power or given them the ability to create these types of threats, but I am so sick of people using this weak argument. Who gives a damn what we did? Is it fucked up? Yea! So that means we now have to go and try to correct our mistakes. How hard is this to understand?
 
No it wasn't it was the USSR's scientists. It was also them that gave some to N. Korea. And we have also put N. Korea on notice as well.

Iran, Iraq, S. Arabia, N. Korea, etc. It is supposed to be the UN that keeps these pathetic countries in place. But since they are are spineless, politicallly correct bags of wasted skin, the US has taken the lead and is showing these pathetic life forms how to do it.

We smacked N. Korea around once and will do it again. And this time we know about the chinese.

As for what do we do. Once Hussein is gone, we should establish a military interim gov't to help the people create the type of non-oppressive gov't that they desire. We will help restore the medical and food industries, help with housing, and more. And considering how we helped Japan rebuild I say we do a pretty good job.

By the way on this, I call absolute bullshit. They don't offer scholarships, but appointments. Tell me, of the two types of appointments, which was yours?

I'd say that war was pretty even. We wound up fighting the Chinese and USSR though. The Soviet MIGs were faster AND had Soviet pilots flying them. The Chinese? Lots of them bro.

Exactly it was even. It was basically like playing Monopoly when you're back to "Go"...... the borders were basicallly the same in 1953. The US could have won the war, but Trumman never gave MacArthur the green light ......

Korea, but McArthur or his boss, don't remember which decided to ignore the reports that the chinese were massing on the border and that we had already been sporadically fighting them. Then without a whole lot of wording they attacked us with about 1million soldiers. That attack is what pushed us all the way back to the 38th parallel. As for the soviet planes and pilots, we were kicking the shit out of them. In fact a US Marine pilot flying an F4U1A Corsair shot down a Mig-17. They weren't all that great, just a lot of them.

And we held our own at the 38th parallel until the cease fire. Had we thrown everything into it as we did in WWII we would have won even against the chinese. But alas, there was that damned UN cocksucking orginisation getting in the way.

So, yes, we smacked North Korea around like the little bitches they are.
 
The military offers scholorships to colloege (civiilian) and then will tender/offer an appointment to a commission.

Now, you can gain an appointment to a military college such as west point or anappolis (sp), but in essence it is a scholorship to their school. The only difference here is that if you decide to flunk out or quit, you are automatically enlisted into that branch of service for a four or eight year enlistment.

MacArthur wanted to nuke the Chinese bases in Mandchouria (?) and then launch a massive attack there, but Pussy Trumman thought he was a freak he replaced him with another General. BTW the Mig-17 wasn't available during the Korean war. The incident you're talking about rather happened in Vietnam. The Mig-15 was far superior to the F-86 Sabre except at low altitude. But North Korean pilots (and Chinese too) sucked big time.
 
No, it happened in the Korean war. It was shot down by the F4 Corsair. We did not fly the corsair after the Korean war. Give me a minute and I will find link to the shoot down.

I used the word "scholarship" because it was the only word I was familiar with as a civilian. What else do you think of when they send you a letter (that I am still looking for) that says that they want you to come to their university and wrestle for them? That sounds like a scholarship to me.
 
Of course we claimed to have bitch slapped them. The Soviet pilots also claimed that we got bitch slapped. The Mig was slightly faster straight out and enjoyed a significantly better climb rate. It also was tougher and could handle more hits.

This is from actual interviews with Korean War pilots from both sides that I watched.

Saddam will not have to be found. When the Iraqi's realize this is for real....they will crap their pants and try to kill Saddam and his sons. There are many people in Saddam's power who know the power that is about to thrash them..and it might be easier to off Saddam themselves.

Some of Saddam's officers are too chicken to kill Saddam but would take the chance if the US military was bearing down on Baghdad.

Iran might be next....North Korea....Indonesia.....you never know.

The Mig-17 Fresco was in service in 1953 in the USSR army. Was never sent to the korean conflict. The best thing North Korean had was the Mig-15Bis.

The service academies do not offer athletic scholarships at all. Only appointments and there are two types. Which one were you offered? I'll give you a hint: one starts with a "P", the other a "C".

On a good note, Saddams Republican Guard may be armed well, but they couldn't hit the desert with a guided bomb. They suck.

There's only about 30,000 decent fighters in Iraq, 20K Special Republican Guard and another 10k in Special Security Forces...the guys who wear black or white ninja diapers on their heads.

30,000 turd rollers that will have the shit bombed out of them unless they give up or kill Saddam themselves.

Saddam has no more than 600 tanks left, few planes, and his former leaders are pissed at their current economic state. It's over for Saddam once the shit hits the fan.
