Waxing and ingrown hairs / a way to control them?

Those of you that get waxed, what is your defense against ingrown hairs?

bro, i really haven't found a great way. I wipe down VERY well with alcohol afterwards and then rub down with good lotion, and i repeat that every morning and every night, not great, but it helps

I usually always do it before I take a shower so that way I have cleaned the area thoroughly. It seems to work for me since I havent had problems since I have been doing it!

THAT HELPS but what you need to do is exfoliate the area shaven, buy a facial scrubber at a beauty supply store (professional quality)...after shaving or hair removal, scrub, twice a day will do ya...

The last time I waxed my old lady did it and it took like 3 fuckin'months for all those red lumps to go, one of my bros says that its good to clean / exfoliate / disinfect w/astringent before,
again after and for the first three days after the wax - shower or clean the area then pat dry then pat area w/peroxide then apply triple anti-biotic ointment, he says you can get that cheap generic at any grocery store...
Sounds kinda like a pain but I think I'm gona try one more time...

I shave and I still get ingrown hairs I hear you they suck I popped one on my chest once and I swear to god the hair was about 4 inches long nasty shit considering I thought it was a zit and that big fucking hair popped out...

I use something called tendskin which works pretty well at preventing ingrown hairs.

how about using some other method of hair removal other than waxing?

My girlfriend works in a beauty salon and the recommended advice is:Have the waxing done later in the day after you have trained and showered,then dont shower until the next day.When you do shower use a body scrub product and rub into the waxed areas for a good 5-10 minutes then rinse.What I usually do then is apply NIZORAL and leave for 10 mins and rinse.When I have dried off moisturise I use NIVEA Q10 it seems to help tighten the skin and help with any stretch marks.Shower daily and follow this procedure.
