Waxes and pomades

Never used wax or pomade before. I got long straight hair looking to style it, but don't want the wet shiny grease head look (ie gel). I need something with a strong hold however.

Wax or pomade? What's the best hold for styling long hair?

why do u want a hard product in long hair? You should want a styling paste of sorts.. check out a "texturizer" or something along those lines

Well that's what I'm asking for. I don't know how "hard" waxes and pomades hold. I just don't like my long hair getting into my face and eyes.

Thanks guys!

hey bro i wear my hair about 2" long on top and mess it up i used to use moose then hairspray over it but now i got thoose AC products i was talking about

the forming cream works much better! good strong hold but u can change it up and has that dry look to it, no shine/grease

go with what mdd said.american crew is the best.they've got moulding paste if you want a matte finish and thier pomade also kicks ass.its expensive but you've gota pay for quality.

does that come in a little can thing, or a tube?

it comes in a can thing and has a blue label on the top.ive got stupidly thick hair and its the only product that works and has the matte finish.in the daytime go for the dry look but if your going out at night and stuff you have to go for the pomade finish.

the can with blue label is the fiber, can with green is the forming cream

both are useful in my opinion, i run the forming cream through all my hair then style it... if i want a little extra or want to spike it i touch it up with small amounts of the fiber

i hate the pomade, it smells like shit and is thick as hell, makes you feel like you have bacon grease on your head. only good for shine if u want it imo

but if youve got really thick hair then the pomade is good for styling.admitadley the hold isnt that long term but i dont reckon it smells of shit. it smells refreshing!one of the AC products stinks of shit but i cant remember what it was.the label was a white cream colour.anyway that was shit and made my hair stupidly greasy.

best pomade hands down...and i've used a million different kinds.

Physique...smells great and gives your hair such texture and shine. i love it

Toni and Guy Catfight is da shiiiiiit. comes in a little blue ball, slimey texture, smells similar to grapes. i usually blow dry my hair until it's barely damp then apply the Catfight and blow dry some more. sometimes i even use a flat iron if my hair is long enough and it's a special occasion.
