Water ?

I'm going to be upping my water consumption by a lot here shortly to get ready for a couple of shows. My question is I have a very hard time getting down the amount of water that is necessary each day. I just can't seem to stomach that much. I was wondering if I could substitute some of the water intake w/ fresh brewed iced tea instead just to give me a little bit of flavor and variety. I'm thinking it's just water w/ a little added herbs and what not. Would this be ok or for some reason does it have to be strictly plain H20? Not sure also if the caffeine would pose any problems? Anyone who can offer any input on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!
 
try crystal light. a lot of the pros in my gym use this stuff and they swear by it. I think most of them do a half recomended serving mix. has real low cals and a lot of flavor
 
I also know a lot of guys who drink Crystal Light at the gym.... Im gonna start stocking up on this stuff as well
 
I don't see a problem with the iced tea, if you don't load it up with sugar since it is mostly water. The caffeine could be an advantage since it will increase your energy. But you should drink as much water as you can, because your body digests tea and mixed drinks differently than water. Maybe put a little lemon in it for some flavor.
 
Thanks for the input guys! I actually already drink a lot of diet beverages like Crystal Light, Iced Tea, and Diet Soda in addition to water. My main concern is the last week pre-contest water antics that have to be performed flawlessly if you want to come in w/ that dry, vascular, and chiseled look and I don't want to jeopardize my conditioning by doing anything that will detract from my stage appearance. Not sure if Crystal Light and Iced Tea could still be used at that point or just strictly water!

Yeah, I think I know you too, ha, ha! Good to see you're still around even if you have a different screen name. I like the name Hungry a little better anyways. Shit, I've been hungry for about six weeks straight now, he, he. Hope things are going well for you man! Take er easy and I'll be around if ya need me!
 
Ice Tea is only OK if it has ZERO caffeine. Remember caffeine will actually push the water out of you, so its pointless.

Try sugar free alternatives. One of the things I will do is get a huge box of Splenda, and some unsweetened Kool Aid. Then I will make Kool Aid with the Splenda, and have a sugar free, carb free water based drink. It helps when you are trying to get your 2 gallons in.
