Water Retention-Blessing Or Curse?

Obviously nobody wants to look like a human pufferfish, but wouldn't decreased water retention while using AAS comprimse strength resulting in less muscular growth? If this is true, would using A-dex actually diminish gains long term at the expense of looking tighter/less bloated while on cycle?

using adex or nola will help to keep retention down..some people notice when they dont run ai they get stronger, but also bloat...

in the end i think its better to keep the gains u make as lean as dry as possible because in the long run they are easier to keep..

in other words

gain more --loose way more

VS.

or gain less ---- keep most

but genetics allow scenario one people to gain more and keep more ahahha

that is a question that someone will tell you something and someone something else. I personally welcome some water retention giving the muscle more room to work. If it becomes a problem i will increase my proviron to manage the water. hope this helps

BUMP
if your drinking a gallon or two of water a day i don't think it would really have that much effect, cuz you loose the water at the end anyway. So unless you count water towards your gains then....i gues you'll "gain" less. Either way I still don't want to look like a pufferfish lol.

I believe the strength gains you get from water retention are mostly a leverage thing. . Once the water is gone, the leverage is gone and you lose that strength. So it has nothing to do with muscle growth. Not quite sure how the leverage thing works, but Ive seen it mentioned in many articles. Perhaps less motion at the joints. range of motion is decreased?

In a way you are right. Several studies have shown that AAS-induced growth is enhanced by its aromization to estrogen which in turn causes water retention. (This is why cattle are given Fina + estrogen to fatten them up). The other pathway contributing to water retention is the renin-angiotensin system in the kidney. The general theory is that estrogen might increase local IGF-1, and the subsequent increase in circulating growth hormone then increases your strength. For this reason, if strength/mass is your primary goal, skip A-dex (which blocks the enzymatic conversion of AAS to estrogen), and go Nolva, which will allow the estrogen to be produced, but will block it at the receptor level.

That's what I thought. Yet I see these guys that are already lean always including A-dex in their cycles. They bitch about how difficult it is to put on size yet I don't think they realize that using A-dex might actually be part of the problem. For thicker skinned guys that have no problem gaining weight like myself I could see A-dex being used every run-but I think hard gainer/ectomporhs shouldn't even bother worrying about edema unless it's contest time.

in the long run though smaller keepable gains will leave u farther ahead the gaining a lot but then loosing the water weight when u come off
