Glutamine? Does it work? Or is it just me? Still sore as hell after workouts. Anyone had positive experience with it?

Well, yes it does work. It replens the bodys amino acids after lifting or anything. I think it helps if u get muscle cramps as well.

When I took 10g's after a workout, it really did speed up recovery but I choose to put my money in other products now (not cost effective enough for £'less me:()

Yep it works. Hmmmm. Think I will look into this further before I start buying stuff. Thanks bunny

It was was the next big thing after creatine 3-4 years ago

But fewer people use it now
and even less still think it is any useful (apart from the placebo effect)

Glutamine is scientifically proven (I do not have the sources at hand, believe me at your own risk) to aid the recuperation/recovery of EXTREME athletes, so for example, if you are an olympic or professional athlete, I would recommend glutamine. However, due to its price, and the fact that most non-pros need it, I would advise you to save your money and spend it on a good quality whey protein.

Hope our master Kian can post here too =P

Your body can make all the glutamine it needs under most circumstances. However, people can run short of glutamine under extreme conditions. So if you are climbing Mount Everest, recuperating from a horrible injury, or have cancer you probably could use some glutamine. Otherwise you should get something else.

But if you must use glutamine, you're probably best off to use glutamine peptides as opposed to the much more commonly offered l-glutamine.
